Looking for wedding bands... but the way that my engagement ring is, a wedding band wouldn't be able to sit flush against it (without having a bend or whatever else they do to make them fit... but I don't want that, since I'd like to be able to wear the band alone). I'm not sure if I should wear my ering on my right hand (in which case it would need to be sized... it's too small for it now), or reset my ering so that the two would fit together...)
Would love to know about your wedding band and ering! (and would also loooove pictures if you have!)
UPDATE:
Here are pictures so you can see what I mean... the first picture is a view from the side. (sorry its not too clear) see how the prongs are? a band wouldn't even be able to sit close to the ring....

Re: Question about wedding bands!
you can see if your engagment ring comes with a band. I know mine dosen't but when I went to the store they said alot of the other ones will fit perfect with it. You should check that out. You should try them on and see which ones you like better.

it doesn't! my FH had it custom-made.... I've tried on a bunch of rings, and the ones I love (simple eternity band with round diamonds) don't fit with my ering...

Re: Question about wedding bands!
Mine has the same problem b/c it is set very low. Look in my album. But I've tried rings on, and I'm going to get a 5 stone ring that doesn't sit exactly next to it but very close. I don't want to wear my ering on my right hand.

I'm just wondering how they'd make it fit.... I don't want it to have a bend or weird shape, because then I feel like it doesn't look right when it's worn alone....

Re: Question about wedding bands!
DH custome made my engagement ring. It then became SO popular, that similar designs are just sold without designing it. [Forgot where he designed it ,I think Mondera-He then brought it in to jewelery places to see who could & would design it. My e-ring got very popular, and then in time, the band was pretty easy to find, but still needed to be custome made, b/c I wanted princess bagette on the band instead of the round thats so common.
The band shown is NOT my exact band. the only difference is that instead of round bagettes, its priness cut.
DH is custome making me the same exact band, for our 1 yr anniversary, so I can have 2, so I can wear boith bands and and my e-ring on the same finger, and i may soder them together .. .
I had the same problem with my e-ring, and I decided have a curved ring that came to a point - I think it's going to be beautiful to wear alone, as well as with my other ring - and a little bit unique too. I'm having it specially made, but it should look something like the picture below (and then, a pic of my e-ring, so you can see how they might fit together. It will go under the point of the heart on the e-ring.) I'm going to add a small stone to the band, sort of inside the little curl-thing.
They make a matching one for my e-ring, but I didn't like that big curve either. I wanted to be able to wear it by itself if I felt like it. I found one in Fortunoff that matchs my e-ring with little round stones in it so I just got that one even though it's not completely flush against it. To me it looks fine. I had spoken with Elsa from a jewlery place that is on this site at the bridal expo last fall and she said she could make a band with such a slight curve that I wouldn't notice and it would fit perfectly.

Re: Question about wedding bands!
Persoanlly, sit flush against one another is probably the best choice.
On the other hand, [no pun intended] if u have like a 6 carat engagement ring, u may want to wear the band on the other hand! A snobby cousin of DH who got married last yr does this, b/c shes greedy and likes huge diamods, so she wears them on separate hands.
My biggest dilemma was if I was going to wear the band 'closer to my heart' or the ering 'closer to my heart' - or what looked better - I decided, and they say the band is supposed to be closer to ur heart - so thats what I did!
HTH!

Re: Question about wedding bands!
Our wedding bands were custom made using DH's family symbol. My band is completely different from my engagement ring. They do not sit flush (close) but they are so different that it does not really matter anyway. I wear them on the same finger and very rarely I wear just my wedding band.
First pic is my E-ring Second pic is the band, except it willnot be as wide and it will be a semi-eternity band. Hopefully it will sit flush against my e-ring... i have not tried it on yet
I have a pear shaped ring, and am getting a 5 stone (round) in a bar setting as my wedding ring.
it wont sit flush, but the space isnt that much.

Re: Question about wedding bands!
I have a fairly low setting as well, but I wound up finding something to fit flush with my band. If anything, just get it reset. You can check out my pics:
i have a low e-ring setting as well. I revisted the jeweler to get some ideas. these were my options
1) get a higher setting so whatever band i choose it will set or semi flush together depending on the band
2) get a wedding band with a curve
3) wear my e-ring and wedding band on separate hands
or just get a wedding band that is not curved but wont flush together nicely with my e-ring
not sure what I will be doing. I have my eye on a wedding band that I absolutely fell in love with so if i really want it..then my e-ring will have to get a higher setting so it can sit next to each other
