Question about wedding dresses

Is your wedding dresses going to be touching the floor or are you going to go 1-3 inches above the ground? I was told wedding gowns are suppose to be 1-3 inches off the ground. I have talked to a few people and they said they have never heard of this. Can anyone please help me with this?

1 to 3 inches seems a bit short to me. I would def double check that.

Re: Question about wedding dresses

My dress was pre hemmed and I went for my first fitting Saturday I was not happy about my dress you could see the tip of my shoes. Today I went back with my sister to try it on again and to see what I could do about it and she took pictures of it and you can see my shoes in some of the pictures. I was told they can lower the dress but then I can't use slippers if I want cause I will walk all over my dress. I am not sure about what to do.

Trust me, you want the dress a little bit off the floor. My SIL had to pick her dress up walking down the aisle and up the altar stairs b/c she was tripping on it. My seamstress measured my dress to my toe. (in heels) I dont know about 3 inches form the floor, but def. 1 inch.

Oh, I just noticed that you said you have slipper shoes. That might be tough b/c you are already flat on the floor. People will have to see your whole shoe/slipper. If you are wearing heels, you only see the tip of your toe, not your whole foot.

Re: Question about wedding dresses

You can see my shoes that I was going to wear for the wedding my fh came up with the idea of wearing ballet slippers instead which would bring the dress length down. Which it did. With the slippers you did not see my shoes with the regular shoes that I was going to wear you can see them.

Personally I'd rather be tripping over my dress than be able to see the tips of my shoes. Too short is one of my pet peeves...

This happened to me to. There is nothing they can do about it except order another dress for me because they ordered a petite for me. I ended up going with a lower heal. It worked out for the better because my shoes were killing me by the end of the night so I was dancing bare foot and my dress was still manageable.

That's what is bugging me is that I think it might be too short for my taste. I want what would make me happy and what would look nice on me.
