When buying wedding rings, who is supposed to pay for what? If my ring costs more than FH's, does that mean he pays for mine and I pay for his? Or do we split the total cost 50/50? Or do I pay for my own and he pays for his own?

I don't really think there is anything set in stone about this..... Some people say you buy for each other which I prefer....but we're taking the money from a joint account. Plus, I already feel bad that FH spent so much on the E-Ring, to make him pay for my band (which is about 6X the amount of his) would make it worse!

i was wondering about this today too. i know traditionally you buys each others, but his was less than 400 andmine is going to be about 1500. i feel bad, he already paid for the e-ring, right?

The way I look at it is this-- It doesn't matter who pays at this point -- we are getting married-- our money is OURS...Once we get marrried we agreed to pool our earnings.....so even though he's technically paying for mine & I'm paying for his-- It's coming from OUR money.

the normal th ing is you pay for his and he pays for yours. Ours will be coming out of a joint account so we will be paying kind of for both

FH and I are just taking the money out of our wedding bank account. However FH does tend to put a lot more money in the account than I do but we consider it both of our money.

Yeah, I just feel bad because FH has already spent so much $ on my e-ring, and the wedding ring I picked out costs almost 3 times as much as his does! So I dunno if it's fair that he pays for my ring and I pay for his. So I guess we should split it 50/50? Im not really sure.....

I agree that there is no his vs yours
I was notified that polish tradition dictates that FH MUST buy the rings.... both of them. FMIL was making a stink about that, becuase I wanted to buy his, and he buy mine for christmas presents.
In the end, he bought both, and I paid for the honeymoon....
