Question about where to put dress after fittings are complete

I had my first fitting last night. Yay! It was great. The dress fit me perfectly and the only thing I needed done was the busel and a little bit in the front.

The lady told me it will be ready 8/6. Im not getting married until 10/3. What do I do for 2 months with this dress!! The store does not hold it for you. Im assuming when you get home you have to take it out of the bag so it doesnt wrinkle? What do you gals do?? Thanks!

my store is holding it until 2 days before my wedding that's when i will go and pick it up

I picked my dress up the day before the wedding.

Its so stupid that they cant hold it. Does anyone else have this problem? Its David's Bridal.

Yup...I do! I made my son completely clear a space in his closet so I can hang it up in there.

Unbelievable. I mean, we can start moving into our apt Aug 1st but I cant even leave it there because we have no furniture, and my FH is bound to see it then. I guess ill have to clean my close out completely and do the same thing. Its terrible.

I'm using Davids Bridal, but my last fitting was Monday, so I will only have the dress for less than 2 wks. Its actually at my sisters house in my niece's closet lol.

Why are you doing the fittings so far from the wedding?? My first fitting was June3rd, for my July 17th wedding

I am having this problem too! i have had my dress for about a year now. I had to hang it at FBIL's house because we have no room for this huge dress.

I am having this problem too! i have had my dress for about a year now. I had to hang it at FBIL's house because we have no room for this huge dress.

Thats insane! Omg... Im afraid its going to get all wrinkled, and i have a cat so she would have to stay out of the room. Its crazy.

I dont know. I figured it took 6-8 weeks for alterations and someone told me to get them done in May! Thank god I didnt do it then. If I known this I would have waited.

I more just meant, why would they have you come in, not why did you!!

LoL oh ok gotcha... Yea I dont know. I had the same thing... 1st of all they made me order a size 10 which came in 2 weeks lol which when I got it, it was WAY to big. So I had to exchange it for an 8 - that took about 4-5 weeks. Some of those people there have no idea what they are doing lol now I will have to have this nicely pressed dress hanging somewhere for 2 months! UGH i dont even want to talk about it LoL
