Question about your SHOWER!!!!!!

Question about your SHOWER!!!!!!

Do you want to be surprised?

My mom recently asked me this.... what do you think?

Here's my deal. I will most likely live in Jersey - how the HECK will they be able to convince me to come home to something in the dead of winter.

Two of my cousins did know and greeted guests and the door. One of them 'pretended' to not know but showed up in a white suit.

What do you think? What would you do? And do you want to be surprised?

Re: Question about your SHOWER!!!!!!

My other thought was of KNOWING but not knowing the location or anything --- that could be fun.

But I feel like if guests know that you know the DATE, they would assume you know the PLACE too....

Re: Question about your SHOWER!!!!!!

Well, when planning my FSIL's shower, we had it at the hotel next to where their reception was going to be (Chateau Briand-Holiday Inn). To get her there, her FH told her he wanted to look at the rooms to possibly stay at for the night of the wedding. When they got to the hotel, I had arranged with the front desk and banquet Mgr to take them to the room saying he was taking them to his 'office', she had NO idea and was surprised!!

I want to be surprised, but I am so nosey and tend to be a little controlling, so it's going to be a grand challange for my bridal party to surprise me!!

I had just talked to my mom and MOH about this the other day. Since I live in VA, it is unlikely that it will be a surprise. I like the idea of knowing the date, but nothing else though.

I think everyone usually knows that they are going to have a shower 2 months to a month from there wedding. But I think its nice to be surprised and fooled on what the exact day will be. I would definitely want to be surprised. It's fun!!!

that's my point. it's fun to be surprised if you actually live there and its plausible. but if i don't live in the state and my mom says in february - ohhhhh, so-and-so is having a party - like, come on, i'm going to know anyway.

i was thinking that if i just knew the date, they could keep everything else a surprise. FH can blind fold me and take me to the place!!!! that would be fun!

Why not?! You think we're not going to fulfil our BM responsibilities! You'll be very surprised!

And I desperately want to be surprised, but I also want a co-ed shower because the thought of being the center of attention makes my blood run cold.

I definitely want to be surprised. I had a surprise graduation party when I graduated with my masters degree and I was completely shocked. I love being suprised, so i definitely don't want to know.

I really want to be surprised. I was just thinking about this last night. One of my BMs asked me for a list of people to invite as well as phone numbers and addresses. She is really on top of things

i would also like a co-ed shower (hee hee) and i really hate the thought of being the center of attention. i really don't want to be surprised, and i told fh once he finds out when it is to let me know. but he won't, fmil told me that he won't know until the last minute

I'm totally against the surprise thing, mainly b/c I love planning and also b/c someone is very likely to slip and you will find out anyway. You know you are going to have one, so why not just know? For the 1 minute when everyone yells surprise...I don't know...but that's JMO.

Re: Question about your SHOWER!!!!!!

Surprise would be nice but my mom & I are so close, I think it is going to be hard to pull it off without me knowing...Plus I want a house shower, so it will most likely be at my Mom's...Thing is, I don't want a shower in the winter, so I told my mom September or October...Originally mom mom told me September but my SIL will be 8 months PG & travelling from Maine!!!

I don't really have an opinion on this one. I suspect that since my FMIL lives in FL (and she'd want to be there), I'll know about it. That's fine with me.

Is that a challenge Kissy?!!! You don't think we can surprise you?! I think we can, and hopefullywill! You are under estimating us:)
But don't worry, I won't have you show up in sweats, just coming from the gym!!
