as you know, fh and I wanted to originally get married in wdw to avoid having to invite the entire world. So, we decided that we would instead invite only immediate family and friends...and spoil those who are comming...
Now, we stuck to a min of 80 people, and i would say... 70% are fhs...
and now, i find out that were supposed to invite:
sister in laws parents and sisters (Plus dates?)=6 brother in laws inlaws and siblings (plus husbands)=8 aunts mother and fathers: 10
Thats 24 MORE people on his side. Is that customary to invite them? Im rather confused... and very upset because i do not want to move the wedding up a year...
I am already cutting out family AND friends because i wanted to stick to the 80 people.

Re: question and help
I personally don't think you have to invite them if your having a small wedding.
FH and I wanted a small wedding so we're only inviting first cousins and aunts and uncles..if we were going to invite parents cousins, or once-removed family we'd have to add like 50more people and thats just not do-able for us....plus, if they aren't in our lives on a regular basis, where we see them at least once a year, we really don't feel comfortable having them at our wedding, like we prob wouldn't even recognize them lolz

Re: question and help
If you are keeping it small I wouldn't do all of the extras, then it becomes too much!

Re: question and help
i'm having a larger wedding (200+) and I am NOT inviting any family of my BIL & SIL. They're not really part of my/our family.....They're our inlaws family.....but we also only see those people when its a birthday or christening of one of the kids or something like that.....not on regular holidays usually.

Re: question and help
If you are keeping a small wedding then I would say no you do not have to invite them. If your fh really wants to invite them then he should cut out other people on his side to make it work within your numbers since you already cut out so many people

I don't think you should HAVE to invite anyone. Its your wedding, so you and FH should be the only ones deciding on the guest list.
