Question: Do you believe in the saying that...
...what you are doing at midnight on New Year's Eve will set the tone for the type of year that you will have??I am always conscious of this saying EVERY year, and I hate that I think of it at midnight...for instance, I don't like to be sitting when the ball drops. I guess it's superstition, but it makes me think that I won't be in control of what happens [to me] during the new year.
I know this sounds crazy probably, but does anyone else have any funny/wierd/strange superstitions about New Years, or am I the only one?

Re: Question: Do you believe in the saying that...
I do...I don't want to share it because it is very personal to FH and I but every year as the ball is dropping we have a ritual.

Re: Question: Do you believe in the saying that...
I dont really believe that simply b/c it really doesnt happen to me, however, I know MANY people who feel the same way you do, so it's not strange. I do however, make sure I have no dirty laundry on New Years

Re: Question: Do you believe in the saying that...
No, I've never ever thought that way, but can understand why you do. For the last few years, I just kiss Rob and every year turns out to be wonderful.
(Awww ... how sappy)!I think if you spend the night with your husband and son, wherever you are, you will have a great 2003!
Happy and Healthy New Year!

Re: Question: Do you believe in the saying that...
I hope that's not true b/c I won't be w/my husband when the ball drops!
I am very upset about this especially b/c it's our 1st married, but my husband is a slave to the city(he is a NYC cop.)So, I hope that superstion is not true, I don't look forward to a year w/o him!!

Re: Question: Do you believe in the saying that...
Thats so funny that you mention that because my father has a similiar superstition. When we were growing up he would make sure that we were all in the same room with him at midnight. Let me tell you this was absolute torture b/c I couldnt enjoy New Years Eve until I moved out of my fathers house because he would FORCE us to stay home.He also holds a gold coin in his hand for luck/fortune.
I dont have the same superstitions but I do make sure Im with Luke and we share a kiss at midnight.

Re: Question: Do you believe in the saying that...
I have a friend who grabs a suitcase and walks around the block with it on New Years Eve (before midnight) because it supposed to guarantee travel during the next year. I've never actually done it, but it always makes me laugh to think about it!I'm with the kissing Jerry at midnight and just being together at that time!

Sha, I really feel for you. This is my 8th NYE with Patrick, and only the second we'll be spending together. The last one was in 2000/2001. The price we pay to be with such wonderful men.
