I am doing bird seed bec I dont want the birds to die after eating rice, lol, and rose petals, you are right rose petals will be weird in the winter, but you can throw something else, you can design something to throw like snowflakes or confetti that would give that winter wonderland look

I wonder why...our priest told us that it's a myth that it hurts the pigeons..it's due to lazy people who don't want to spend five minutes sweeping! Unreal...

Go for petals...they are nicer in pics, don't stain your dress or FH white shirt...and they are just prettier!

Im using bubbles and my wedding is two days after yours so trust me I had all these issues to think about. I actually saw t hat bubbles can have a similar effect in pictures as petals w/o the mess. My church was not against petals but mentioned clean up...??? So i rather avoid having to deal with it.

Bubbles are always a hit and liek I mentioned before do look really nice in pics.

AC MOORE and Michaels sells this stuff called wedding rice. It is heart shaped and biodegradable! its safe and the church might let you use it my friend is using it at her wedding

WERE THINKING ABOUT ORDERING THOSE BUTTERFLIES, THIS WAY THEY'LL BE SET FREE. AND I THINK IT WOULD LOOK PRETTY SEEING THEM ALL FLY AWAY.

i was a winter wedding.... i didn't do anything!! and it didnt' matter. partly, t wsa because the church doesn't like people throwing things...it would havebeen a hazard on the steps and frankly, it was too cold and people just wanted to get in the car. FH and I walked out and waved and quickyl said thank you to everyone and then we went back into the church for pictures.

a lot of places wont let you throw anything.

however, you've already gotten married, so it's not like they can 'take it back' if you do throw petals or whatever.

just be careful if your church has that kind of rule and you dont want to be on bad terms with them.

Yeah I HAVE to do bubbles it's the only thing they allow at my church. I was told flower petals are a 'liability'

I didn't think they allowed rice anymore ANYwhere b/c it makes birds who eat them afterwards sick (it expands in their stomachs) BUT I know my cousin had birdseed thrown at her wedding and it was really nice.
