question for all of those girls who booked their photographer..

did you use the vendors your hall recommended? or did you go outside? is there anything bad about getting a totally different vendor..just wondering..thanks!

We have booked both recommended and outside sources. Our photographer wasn't a recommended vendor, but our officiant is. Our florist isn't, but our limos might be! I don't think there's anything wrong with using someone outside, just recommended vendors may know the in's and out's of your hall. And usually recommended vendors are a little cheaper! HTH!

I already had all my vendors in mind before we booked the RH. About 2 weeks after we booked the hall my mailbox has been filled with mail from different vendors. I have also been getting lots of phone calls from different people. It's getting a little annoying. I have to have my phone on silent at work so it doesn't go off in the middle of one of my lessons.

There is nothing wrong with it and they wont say anything to you either dont worry, at least they shouldn't...One of the first things i asked my RH is if it was ok if i bring my own cake, they said yeah no problem, even though they provided it or i could've gone to the bakery they recommend. He even asked who am i getting my cake from and he was like Ooooh thats great, which one are you getting, we just had a bride last weekend who had a cake by her.

The only thing is you pay half price for their meal instead of it being free, and if you dont care about then thats fine...Infact what can they say theyre actually getting money bc you booked an outside vendor.

We had booked outside vendors because all vendors ate for half price so it didn't matter and I thought their vendors were too expensive or just weren't interested in their work.

we used an outside vendor, but met with two the hall recommended. the hall's recs were way more $$$. we found out later that the hall gets a % of whatever the vendor charges, so they have to charge higher rates to account for the difference.

So far I've been booking outside. As long as they are familiar with the venue it will be fine! I went to visit with one of the recommended vendors and they didn't show so I don't think you get better service from them!
