Do you all still celebrate how long you have been together? ( not your married date)
DH have been together for 11 years and we went to dinner to celebrate!
Well one of my so called friends left me a comment on myspace telling me 'you know you have a new anniversary now in September' and I told her we still celebrate the yearly one! Being that she has been with her husband for 13 years and married for 2 she should know. She told me that it was stupid!!!!!
I don't think it is! I love how we still celebrate our love on the day of our first date!
What do you all think?

We went out to dinner. Nothing big, no gifts. We do recognize the date though.

So I am not alone here! DH and I did no gifts just dinner and made a note of the date! Maybe she is jealous cause she doesn't do it and she wishes they did!

We acknowledge it but I doubt we'll go out for dinner or anything for that reason. We spend enough money on a daily basis

Re: Question for all you Married ladies!
We have been together for 7 years now, and we have been going to Mamma Lombardis every year to celebrate! I see nothing wrong with going out to dinner. Obviously no gifts. Have fun and its not stupid to celebrate!! We still will continue our tradition..

I think you are right -- she is jealous!
We will reconize the date but it is also three weeks before our wedding anniversary so we probably won't do anything but we still know what it is.
Now that I think of it he usually just makes a nice dinner for it so I am sure the same will continue in the future!

We dont celebrate ours but I dont think its stupid that you do- its your decision- and I think youre right- why would she care, only if she was jealous.

Re: Question for all you Married ladies!
For her to say that is dumb. You have been celebrating that date for the last 11 years. Why would you not acknowledge it. Yes you have a new anniversary, so what, the other one is still just as special.

I think its fine to celebrate the time you first started dating we celebrate every month that we are married and we will definitely be celebrating when we first started dating.

We will still acknowledge it-maybe with just a card but probably not because it's only about 10 days before our wedding anniversary. We will probably just mention it and celebrate on our wedding anniversary.

I'm so glad we are all in together on this one! I didn't see naything wrong with it either..I just think it's a case of pure jealousy!! I never responded to her comment and I don't think I am going to!!!!

Re: Question for all you Married ladies!
Sounds like jealousy. don't let it get to you. We don't remember the date of our first date, so we celebrated v day and will always do something on that day. I already asked DH to take off that day, since I am off and it is a sat. I would continue doing it and pay no mind to her.

Re: Question for all you Married ladies!
We never really celebrated the day we started dating, we both are just really not into that kind of thing - as far as just dating goes. But that's just us, if it's something you always acknowledged I don't think you have to stop just because you are married. We all have special days that we remember and look forward too. We all deal with so much junk on a daily a basis I think it's great that you take the time out to be together and just enjoy eachother and reflect on your history together :)
