It's usually less than $100 a month
but the summer is a whole other story if you have ACs

mine was usually $60...closer to double in the summer coz FH would keep the ac on all the time.

My ConEd varies from $50 to $200 a month. It's pretty random, but it's always more in the summer.

I am not sure what company you are with, Lipa or in the city, but you can ask them to put you on a monthly budget. It will be based on the prior year and will be adjusted. We have been here 1 1/2 yrs and they just started budgeting us on 80/month. It will also depend on the appliances you use and how old the appliances are. Also, how you conserve is important too. If I am not in the room, tv and lights off, etc.

Re: Question for apartment renters

Is the apartment electric heat? Also, is hot water included with the rent or will you have an electric hot water heater? These are all thing that can drastically raise your electric bill.

I may not be a good source because I'm in NJ, but we pay about $100 for a 1 BR but have lots of computers hooked up and a server running all the time - my FH is an IT guy. Our hot water is connected to the electric some how so that makes it pricey some times too. In summer our bill has been as much as $250 a month w/two ACs going.

Re: Question for apartment renters

ours alternates like $80 then like $40...so we budget $100

i def recommend turning off lights and stuff...it adds up. also i read or heard somewhere that unplugging whatever u can from the outlet also reduces the bill (like dont leave your cell charger plugged in to the outlet etc)...im not totally sure why but that's what i heard.

we also try not to run the ac much in the summer (only at night if we need to) because we're out during the day and have old units in our apt that eattttt up electricity and dont even work that well.

Average is $54 - With a/c in the summer $85

Last month was $23...We live upstairs and rarely turned the heat on this winter. It's a little more in the summer when we run the AC, but no more than $80.
