My brother had Rhapsody for his wedding two weeks ago, but he also plays IN Rhapsody, so I don't know what kind of break they gave him. I know they are awesome (with my brother as a groom AND as the guitarist )

Re: Question for Brides using bands....
We booked Full House for $6k, they are an 8 piece band. They'll play the reception and the piano player will play the CH.
We saw bands from $4k to $10k. I'd expect that range when you're looking.

Thanks so much for all of your suggestions. I truly had no idea where to begin except from the extraordinarily priced bands I grew up with. Back in the day, my entire Bat Mitzvah celebration cost a lil bit more than some of these bands do. If only I could have my wedding in 1983 - well at least the COST of 1983. Now I am having a flashback of my Hank Lane Band playing 'Sweet Dreams' by the Eurythmics - and I did NOT have a female singer. ICK!!! It was that and 'Abracadabra' by the Steve Miller band.

$10K Which band is charging that for 4 - 6 hours? Some celebrities charge $10K - $15K and upwards of $500K I imagine but a wedidng band for $10K

I'm also using Heart & Soul...it was $6,500 for me...hopefully the extra money was because we are having them play an extra hour.

Re: Question for Brides using bands....
If you have the money to spend on a band and that is where you choose to spend it then SPEND IT! I wanted a good band and I paid for one. To me, if the entertainment stinks, then no one will dance. If nobody dances your pictures will reflect that and those will be your wedding memories. I told my bandleader 'You aren't doing your job if people are sitting.' It is as simple as that to me. It is all hand in hand.

Re: Question for Brides using bands....
I used to work with a guy who did Paul McCartney's wedding. I called him up to ask what his band went for. $25K. If I had it, I would spend it. If we all had an endless supply of cash, we would spend it.
