Did you have to have the affidavit of freedom to marry signed? (The thing where people attest that neither of you has been married before?)

If so, you do know if your parents can sign as your affiant, or if it has to be someone unrelated?

I have an email in to the deacon at the church, but was curious to know if anyone here might have the answer more quickly!

It does not have to be someone unrelated. We were asked to have someone sign that has known you most of your life. We had my mom and his mom sign.

Thanks, all!

We just heard back from the deacon and he said just what you did.

Thanks so much for help!
