Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

I had my reception in the Suburban room in June - it is absolutely beautiful. At first I thought I wanted a room with windows, but I am so thrilled that we chose this room, it looked gorgeous. You ladies who chose it will be so happy!

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

Awesome!! I knew it would be great. It's so intimate and warm. I think it's perfect for an evening wedding. I'm hoping to have the windowed rooms for my cocktail hour and ceremony. But they won't tell us what we get until we go pick our menu etc...

What kind of centerpieces did you have? And how many people did you have?

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

It was perfect for a night wedding- we did not have a ceremony there but we did have a windowed room for the cocktail hour, so that was great. We had around 200 in the room. We had high centerpieces, mostly white flowers. They looked great.

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

Annie quick question.... Did you get top shelf liquor, or did you have to pay for an upgrade??

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

Annie, I was thinking of low centerpieces. I hope they won't get lost in the room, the ceilings are so high! Maybe I can do alternating ones....

We are expecting about 140 pp.

Did you hear anything from the next rooms, since they are only separated by a temporary wall?

Also, ( I know this is like 20 questions...) do you have a pic from inside the room?

I am so psyched that we all are in the same room! It is soooo beautiful. As soon as I walked in, I said 'This is it!!!'

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

We did not pay anything additional for liquor, they said it was top shelf. To tell you the truth, I didn't look on the day of, but I didn't hear any complaints from anyone, so I guess it was OK. I did not hear anything (music, etc.) from any other room. When I scan my proofs in, I will post a picture of the room. Any other questions about Crest Hollow feel free to ask!!

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

We got top shelf included, and when we went to the wedding there in July we checked on their version of top shelf...it's actually very good. They served Kettle One Vodka etc...

We were told that there will not be a party on the other side of the wall if we use the Suburban Room. It may wind up our cocktail hour room if anything at all....

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

Are you guys using the rolling bars or are you having them stationary?

Annie, was there a party going on in the other room that night? If so, did you hear them? I am so scared of that. They promise we won't hear anything, but I am still neurotic about it.

Also, did you have to supply a goodie basket for the ladies room?

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

I didn;t even think about a basket for the ladies room. If there is another wedding going on do they share the bathroom? If so I don't think I'm going to supply one.

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

I'm definately not going to supply anything, I went to another wedding where the bathroom was shared by two parties, and everyone at our party came back with mints asking 'who are Anton and Cathy?' LOL.

As for hearing another party....Crest Hollow told me that they do not book another party on the other side of the wall if you are using the Suburban Room. If there is anything on the other side, it would either be your cocktail hour, or a cocktail hour from another party BEFORE you get there. No worries!

And you can't hear or see anyone else at the Crest Hollow anyway, we were there with a party for 700 going on right next to us and never even knew they were there!

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

Every time I ask about it, they say don't worry you can't hear anything. They NEVER said to me that they don't book both rooms. I hope you are right about that.

I can't wait to find out what cocktail hour room we have.

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

The first question we asked when we were shown the Suburban Room was 'will there be another party on the other side of the wall'..and Charles answer was 'Absolutely not'. It was our biggest concern. They also have enough rooms to not have to do that.

As for hearing anything, honestly, don't stress yourself over it. Like I said, we attended a wedding there in July in the Plaza Room, which is upstairs right next to the Suburban, and there was a party using the entire length of the Suburban Room, for 700 people, no exaggeration at all. We didn't see them, cross paths, or hear them. I wouldn't make this up...I'm a Crest Hollow bride too..and this stuff concerns me just as much.

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

Oh...I forgot to add...

Are we given the option of rolling bars? Is that a contract thing or is it something they just ask you at the end?

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

There was no party going on in the other half of the Suburban room - and we did not run into anyone else at any time during pictures or through the night. It is a very well run place! We did not supply bathroom baskets - to tell you the truth I didn't even think of it. We had rolling bars.

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

I don't want to freak you out or anything, but I too, was married at Crest Hollow and had my reception upstairs in the Suburban Room (that's one half of the large room upstairs), and although when MY band was playing, I did NOT hear anything on the other side of the 'wall', BUT , when my mom, best man, etc. were making toasts (i.e., no band playing on our side of the room), we DEFINITELY heard the band on the other side!!! It really ****ed me off, and we had the maitre d try to fix it during the reception, but there was nothing he could do. However, that did not last long, as toasts do not go on forever. Just a note - on my video, you can DEFINITELY hear the band from the other room during our toasts, but our videographer (Fine Art) told us that they can turn down the background volume and turn up the microphone so that we won't hear the other band. That was a relief. It is not a reason to not book there, but you should discuss it with Crest Hollow again.

Re: Question for Crest Hollow brides...

Lauren, now that I think of it, you were married there a couple of years ago, maybe they got fed up with dealing with those complaints and stopped doing it?

I'm sorry you had to deal with that..I'm so paranoid now! ugh!
