Question for holiday weekend brides

Are you having trouble with getting your hotel block? A lot of hotels we've been calling require a two night stay for our weekend (Memorial Day weekend). It is so frustrating!

Question for holiday weekend brides

We were originally told a 2 night stay but then asked again and the rep told us it wasn't necessary. Not sure why he changed his mind? I feel like we're giving them enough business that it shouldn't be required- some people will stay one night, others will stay 2 or even 3 nights.

I am definitely going to try calling again on Monday. It has been so inconvenient trying to find a place that is close, has parking, and is affordable!

Question for holiday weekend brides

I'm having a holiday but it's Columbus Day weekend so I guess it's not as popular, I've been calling around and having heard a two night minimum.

Question for holiday weekend brides

My wedding is the same day as you! I had the problem a little bit with Kleinfeld hotel blocks telling me that some require a 2 night stay. We ended up getting our block figured out though so I would definitely recommend calling again. What hotel are you looking into?

We wanted the inn at great neck- it would have been so convenient.. it is only 4 miles away!.. when we called they said they only had 26 rooms left, so i guess a lot of people book there for the holiday weekend.

We are going to try calling the hyatt and garden city hotel tomorrow. these are about 7 miles away. Not a huge difference but who knows if we will run into the same issue.

Question for holiday weekend brides

I did the hilton Garden inn in westbury... they are pretty good and really nice. I didnt use anyone to block book for me. I looked up the rate on some travel sites and their site and negotiated the price myself.

Question for holiday weekend brides

We are getting married Labor day weekend. The price of the hotels is the biggest problem we have had. We were able to work with two hotels who were very helpful and didn't require us to book a minimum about.
