Has anyone had their 'design session' with Jack and Rose yet? Mine is scheduled for December (wedding is in April) When I spoke with Jack he requested that I bring a swatch of the bridesmaid dresses with me.....no problem. The only thing is he asked for the swatch to be 11X14!!!! I ordered the swatch from the manufacturer, however, it is nowhere near that big.
has anyone else experienced this request from Jack and Rose?

Re: Question for Jack and Rose Brides
When he first made the request, I mentioned to him that I wasn't sure if I could obtain a swatch that large. He said that all of his other brides have never had a problem. I just find that hard to believe. When I mentioned it to the place that my dress came from, they laughed at me and said there is no way you can get a swatch that big unless you take the whole dress.

yeah, it does seem like a big size..just explain that you tried..what else can ya do? You shouldnt have to pay to get a bigger swatch, teh pont is to save money, and Jack woudlnt want ya to go to any trouble, Id give him a call..hes a really nice guy.

Re: Question for Jack and Rose Brides
When we met with Jack he did tell us that we will need a swatch by the design session, however, he did not indicate a size. I am sure if you tried and were unsuccessful that it won't be a problem. I can't picture Jack complaining that your swatch is not big enough- he's too nice for that- I wouldn't worry. . .

Re: Question for Jack and Rose Brides
Jack mentioned the same thing to me, but explained that if you bring in a tiny swatch, its hard to, for example, get the idea of what the bouquet would look like next to it. A larger piece can give you a better effect visually.
I don't think I will be able to get a big piece either (I'm hoping my BM's won't have too many alterations ), but its not a bad idea, especially since I'm a visual person.. I need to SEE things instead of just creating visions in my head!

Re: Question for Jack and Rose Brides
why not request that the bridal shop order multiple swatches and sew them together?

Re: Question for Jack and Rose Brides
i met with him and had the tiniest swatch ever (the woman at macys actually cut it out of the sample!) - he would have liked it bigger obviously to help pick flowers but we did just fine!! he was greta abotu it and found a cloth napkin in a similar color to help too...your swatch should be fine!!

Re: Question for Jack and Rose Brides
I wouldn''t worry, but just in case you are still concerned...is there a wrap or a matching purse from the same manufacturer that you might bring instead of a swatch? I told jack that I needed to bring something bigger than just a swatch because I am designing my flowers around the beaded detail on my dress. I obviously did not want to bring the dress, so he asked me if I had a matching shawl/wrap or a purse... I thought that was pretty clever!

Re: Question for Jack and Rose Brides
YES - He asked me that same thing - Goto the location where you ordered the girls dresses from and see if they have a smaple for you - Maybe not from the exact dress BUT a color really close - I didnt order my girls dresses yert but I did pick they out ALMOST...and my Bridal Place gave me the swatch already...
