Question for June/July/August brides

i just want to make sure im not falling behind on the planning! where is everyone at?

i havent even started looking at dresses and i dont plan to until like August. is that too late?

we have all the major vendors booked, except limos. i feel like everyone has been planning hardcore lately and i feel like i dont have anything to do!

what are some little things you are doing now so you dont have to do them later??

also - trials! when are you going to start looking into them if you havent already? my hair is in GROW mode and i dont really want to get trials until its a little longer. when is a good time?

Noo I am behind you! I'm 8/6 and I don't have flowers, limos, or any of the dresses but I've picked out the MOH/BM dresses and am not going for my dress until the summer. As long as you have the other stuff done I'm sure you're FINE, I wouldn't worry In fact I think we're kind of ahead of the game.

I know you said June/July/August... but I know I'm not looking for a dress until 9-10 months before, because I want to lose some weight before even looking. So, August should be fine. And you'll have the bonus of seeing the stuff for the new season.

Make up and hair are already covered for me (I already know who I'm going with) so the trial(s) won't be until October - November.

I'm booking the rest of my major vendors in May.

I think you've done well. You have most of your important vendors booked!!! Your time frame for the dress is also good but I would start thinking of styles that you like.

As far as trials go, I have started looking into that already but don't plan to have my trial until I'm about a year away. I'm trying to grow my hair out too, although I don't plan on wearing down for the wedding.

thanks! joanne, that was my plan to wait about 9-10 months before i buy my dress bc im soo indecisive BUT someone i spoke with the other day told me that it took 10 months for their dress to come in and i started to get nervous!!!

who are you using for hair/makeup? you can fm me if you want.

I have a dress.. but you're ahead of me with the rest of planning and I'm the last weekend in May! (sorry i had to look lol)

You have time for a dress.. most places say the max time is 4 months for a dress in your size to come in.. just keep that in mind when you schedule appts to look!

i thought the same thing too, we have plenty of time! BUT i was proven wrong in september when i called a DJ i wanted and they were already booked!!! AND my photographer already had one of their photographers booked the day of when i booked them in October!

if you know you want specific vendors, i would definitely start booking. especially bc youre getting married in august!

I am with you witht he hair thing mine is pretty long but for the wedding I will have it longer so I am going to wait till prob next year some time.

We have only booked out photographer and Band so far.

As far as my dress I wont be looking till may/june ish.

you will be fine.

Thanks for the welcome!! Maybe I will start to look, the problem is my sister is getting married this July and i promised her I wouldnt look at anything until after...

thats a tough situation! sorry maybe you can just pick which vendors are most important to you and book them. to me photo and DJ were most important. i would make some phone calls just to see the availability and then if theyre starting to book around your date i would tell you sister, im sure she would understand!

Frankie and Danielle from Cactus Salon in Plainview. Frankie does the cut/color... Danielle does my up-dos. I've been going to them for years.

Makeup: Amanda she used to manage a Chanel counter in one of those big department stores, but she recently left. She does my makeup all the time.

Im waiting until this summer to really start booking them. I am also indecisive plus so many other things will come out by then. I only gave rh, church, band, video/photo booked. I dont think its a problem to start looking 1 year before, especially since you have all your major vendors booked.

All I've done so far is book the RH. Other than that, I've picked my dress (didn't order it yet), looked at some bands, and I'm meeting a deacon tomorrow for the church. I haven't booked ANYTHING yet except for the RH, and I haven't even met with florists, photogs, videogs, limos, ANYTHING. And I'm not worried. Oh and I'm moving to Florida for med school in August lol. It'll all get done.

I have booked: ceremony, reception, photographer, dj.

I am going to Long Island in April and plan on booking my florist, start to look for a dress, and look for a officiant to marry us.

I have picked out my bridal party dresses.

I am in a completely different situation bc i only go to Long Island every 2-3 months. I have to try and get as much as I can while I'm down there.

Hi!! Yeah your doing great! dont go crazy... I am just booking my venue this week..so im stressing out !!! I have the date and the place- just saving my pennies..my venue requires 25% down!! I actually just ordered my dress on Sat. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND villiage bridal in babylon..they are not pushy & they let you take pics :) I am going to start some of my DIY stuff- just to get ahead of the game.I am currently looking for a video & photographer..but thats it for now :) Good luck..

PS they told me it takes 6 months for my dress to come in :)

I feel like I'm behind with everything too! So far, I have the church, RH, and the band. I'm not going to look at dresses until the summer or late spring... My next thing is to start calling up photographers and try to get that set within the next few weeks

We are actually booking limos tomorrow and than its a break!!!!! We wanted to book a cigar roller but we are holding off.... My goal is to have all the major stuff done by June. Because this summer I am taking a wedding vaca! And so is my wallet lol. We are sending STD's in July/August, and than its back to wedding hell in September.

I think you may have some time to book your trials, although, if you want someone like M*I*A or Oksana or Cocobella, than you may want to consider at least a makeup trial and book them now b/c they book up FAST. As for hair, if you are using a local salon than you can wait a little bit. I have my friend doing my hair, and we haven't even done hair trials yet.

We are still looking for BM gifts, honey moon, trinket favors to go with the donation we plan on doing, my veil, under garments, shoes, tuxes, invites, place cards, etc...

But we have time! You know when you should panic? 6 months before... than your allowed to panic a little
