Question for June/July/August brides

Re: Question for June/July/August brides

I have all of my big vendors done. The only one I haven't given money to or met with yet is florist, but I'm also using a family friend who used to do the floral arrangements at the Waldorf Astoria. I emailed him the other day with the things I have in mind, and I'll be meeting with him soon to really get into detail.

As for hair/makeup trials, I'll be waiting a while on that. I'm not using a fancy vendor for that. As a matter of fact, I'm just going to my regular hair stylist who cuts my hair and has done all of my formal hair styles since my Sweet 16. I'll also be getting makeup done at the same place.

I think I'm going to start looking at and trying on dresses around April. I want to make sure I have enough time to work with in case I don't immediately fall in love with anything.

I bought a piece of my BM's gifts already, but it was because there was an amazing sale price that I couldn't risk losing.

I would say book your big vendors asap....dj/band, photog, video, RH, church (if applicable), florist, and limos. I'd worry most about things that can booked up for your day and then may not be available. Everything else can wait a little while.

We are way behind you. We only have Rh, ceremony and dj done. We are looking at photographers and limos next. Then a bit of a break. I'm going to do my dress, girls' dresses and flowers over the summer. I'm a teacher, so I'll have way more time then.

I'm just about where you are. Brian and I have all our major vendors booked except limos.

I'm going dress shopping this Saturday But I dont think August is too late.

I'm going to schedule my trials for the summer, I think. I heard alot of makeup artists wont do trials before the year mark.

I contacted a few make up artists and they wont take any trials till 1 years before.
Im also in a wait game with my hair. In September I cut my hair and donated it to locks of love. Now I'm waiting for it to grow out and it feels like its taking forever. I have no intentions of looking for a dress till the 1 year mark and maybe even august.
Maybe the salon where that girl got her dress, they didn't order it right away when they took her deposit.
I think you also don't want to buy a dress too early if you are indecisive, you dont want to end up with buyers remorse.

i only have rh, photog and officiant.

dress i didn't plan on until the 1 year mark or after. most girls are getting their dresses within 4 months after ordering them. i think it's rare when you hear someone say it took almost a year

i just started my STD's but then again, they're handmade and a major PITA so it will take till june to finish them....probably next November at this rate

i think you're fine Danielle

I just wanted to let you know that I am an august bride for 2009 and I did not start planinng until august of 2008. I got my dress lasy august and it actually just came in yesterday! You have plently of time! Don't stress too much because you don't want to look back and feel like you wasted all of your time stressing out. Some little things to think about now would be favors, are you going to throw anything at the reception, gifts for the bridal party. I wouldn't go crazy though because you still have a year and a half and you don't want to change your mind. I hope this helps!
