Hi ladies...I'm just curious....do you think sending save-the-dates helped you get more 'yes' responses??
Thank you!!!!

i am not married yet, but everyone we talked to said it was a great idea, esp oot people who are going to plan their vacation time around our wedding.....
i say well worth it, our magnets only cost about $175 total

its worth it and we designed it ourself and ordered it on vista print- they always have sales - we got them for like 25$

nope.
In fact, several people made plans for our wedding date AFTER we sent them out and they had them on their fridge.
(and yes, the plans they made they could have done on another date, oh well)

I still think it was worth it though, we got our magnets on Vistaprint and spent less than $25 on 100 of them.
People still comment on how cute they are, and we didn't do anything 'special' we used one of their designs.

not really....we only sent STD's out to my family and friends but not to FH's family....I don't think it changed anything...JMO

Hmmm...it definitely helped people get the ball rolling as far as booking hotel rooms and flights. (We have alot of OOTers). BUT some have still not booked and the wedding is like a month away! Hello...what is taking them so long? Invitations are out already!

Ok but I defintiely think it is worth it. Mine were in the $100 range for picture ones on shutterfly. (150 STD). my sister just made cute postcard ones on snapfish. I think it is worth it though.

Thank you ladies!!! I sent save-the-dates because mine is a summer wedding, and I did have a couple of friends tell me that they were going to plan their vacations after my wedding, but I also had a few people tell me that they weren't going to be able to make it. Oh well they will be missing a great party LOL....!!

i don't think so - no.

the reason we sent them was more of an engagement announcement (we didn't have an e-party).

We also did it to let people know we were getting married in January...and with it so close to Christmas, that was our thinking....just as an FYI thing...

I'm not sure... we sent them because we had some OOT guests and also we got married on Friday and wanted to give people a heads up to make arrangements for leaving work early or taking the day off.

I am not really sure how you could answer this unless everyone was asked if it helped knowing in advance or mentioned it. I saw a lot of family members yesterday and they are making the plans to come. I think it will help in the fact that people can make vacation plans around that time. One of my girlfriends was doing exactly that. If you are talking about your wedding this July, I don't think you should spend the money since the invites should be going out soon. Most thought the STDs were the invites though.

I think it definitely helped the out of town guests. If your date is around a holiday or school vacation I would definitely send them.

Your invites shold be sent out very soon so I wouldn't spend the $$

not sure we thought by sending them out people who deff. were not going to come would tell us but they didn't. We still had a lot of no's.
