Question for Mary Anne-married on 3/16/01...
Hi Mary, First, congratulations on your recent wedding...I loved your website! I need your assistance if you don't mind. I too am getting married at the Westbury Manor and am considering using Darren at JAG salon. I have been going to Darren for almost a year now for highlights and cuts and I am waiting for my veil and headpiece to come in for my September wedding so I can have a makeup and hair trial with him. I guess my inquiries are what you thought about how he did your hair and make-up and how did you decide upon him. Unfortunately, I have a day wedding so I won't have much time to play around with in the morning and I believe I would have to go to his salon that morning. Also, did he do your bridesmaids, and if so, how many and how much did he charge... I am getting married in the Manor room at the Westbury Manor and was wondering who your banquet manager was and what you thought overall. I believe the person I dealt with when I signed the contract was Arlene. I am sorry this is so long; I really do appreciate your thoughts...thanks!!! Again, best wishes to you and your new husband!

Re: Lisa (JAG & WM) **LOOOOOONG**
Hi Lisa- Thanks for your best wishes! I'm having a wonderful time with all this 'married' stuff. I chose Darren b/c my sister (MOH) had been going to him for some time and wanted to treat me. I don't often get my hair done (I tend towards the 'come as your are' side), but Darren made me feel like a princess. He listened to what I wanted and told me what would work. He even gave me some extra hair (doesn't it all look real?!) I thought that what he did was incredible. I never thought I could look that good. He blocks an hour and a half for the day of, so beware of time. If you want some time in September, you might want to talk to him fairly soon. One BM, my MIL & MOH went to him as well- I think they charged normal rates ($40 for updo) for everyone. I was worried b/c I had never gone to him before, but like I said- I never thought I could look that good. Oh- JAG is in the Glen Head/ Sea Cliff area. As for WM- we signed with Frank, set the menu with Alexandra & our banquet manager was Chris. Alexandra was great with the menu (she told us exactly what people dive for & helped us keep the menu consistant). Chris was fine- nice enough. The grounds should be gorgeous in September. They were even pretty in March. Alexandra authorized us coming pre-mass for pix & Chris let us show the NCAA tournament in the Library during the reception. Beware of how many people you try to fit in the rooms, though- When they sold us the Garden Room, it was at a higher capacity than they told us later on. I don't want to clog up the board anymore, but if you want more info, just e-mail me- [email protected] . I'll tell you whatever I know! Good luck Lisa!Welcome New Vendors
