Question for newlyweds

Question for newlyweds

I was planning to go out to have my hair done the morning of the wedding but in the back of my mind there is a nagging feeling that I am going to regret it... I am afraid we are going to run late or be rushed (besides that I will have to go super early to be back in time for the makeup)...

Did anyone who is already married go out to have their hair done or did everyone have someone come to them? If someone came to you, who did you use, would you recommend them and how much was it if you don't mind sharing?

Thanks so much!!

I am not a newlywed but I would really suggest having someone come to you and save yourself the stress. PrncssRachel just posted about this. Why add more stress on the morning of the wedding? What happens if the salon is running late, there is traffic, etc. This way you are at home with the girls and can relax and enjoy getting ready.

I am using Vicky Casey and I will FM you prices.

I read Rachels post which made me start thinking... part of what I am worried about (because I worry too much!) is hurting the hairdresser I am supposed to go to, feelings!

I wouldn't worry about that; it's business.

I used Jenn, the Hair Genie and Oksana for makeup and they both came to me. It was so worth it. I was nervous and uptight the morning of so I was happy I decided to have them come to me--not vice versa. I forget what I paid. It was expensive but worth it!

I HIGHLY recommend them coming to you. It made all of our lives so much easier. I may cost a bit more, but totally worth it.

I recommend them coming to you...i had that. And I had a large bun in my hair the day of the wedding and the first time that took 45 mintues the entire thing was lopsided so she had to redo it. I had no qualms telling her that she messed up because that is the hair that was going to be in all the pictures. THe second time it came out great and she was fine with redoing it.

Why don't you see if she can come to you?

I had someone come to me. You are nervous enough on your wedding day. It is nice to be able to stay in one place and not have to worry about rushing around, getting here and there. I used Jenn, the Hair Genie and loved her. The cost was $120.

I am planning on going out to get my hair done on the day of. It never even occured to me that I might want it at my house, but now its too late for me to change it, so I won't... But I have some time built in and am hoping I won't be rushed, oh well

Re: Question for newlyweds

My girlfriend is a hairdresser. She and another friend of our's came to my house and did my hair and make-up and my mom too. If she would have asked me to go to her house, I would have no problem (again, she's a good friend with a 5 month old at home). However, she was running late, which made me a tad nervous, but it worked out just fine

My ex-supervisor lives in Riverhead, stayed at Danford's the night of her wedding, drove to Smith Haven Mall to get her hair done and she said she was so relaxed, it didn't bother her at all... even helped since no one was around the nag her

I went out to get my hair done and it was fine. Granted, the hair salon where I went was no more than 5 minutes from my home, but I actually kind of enjoyed HAVING to relax while I drove. To me, that wasn't really an issue.

ABSOLUTELY have some one come to you. You dont want the hassle of driving anywhere no matter how close it is. Jenn the Hair Genie came to my house early and I really felt relaxed and at ease.

i went at 10 am to have my hair done and it was fine, 3 of my bridesmaids and my mom also had hair done, and 3 of us had makeup done also and we were all home by 1:30pm, the photographer didn't come until 2:30. we had plenty of time and it actually gave me something to do other than sit home and stress!!! i guess it depends on what time your ceremony is, mine was at 4pm!

Re: Question for newlyweds

My ceremony is not until 5 but I have quite a few girls getting makeup done and am guessing she will have to get here around 11 or so (maybe even earlier)... so I will have to be out early to have my hair done...

I think I will have her do a trial where I am planning to go and if it doesnt come out that great then maybe I will see about getting someone to come to the house... Thanks for all your opinions girls!!
