after doing the christmas survey i just started to think about putting up a tree...this is the first year i have cats..and i have two of them
do your cats attempt to climb up your tree??? what do u do so that it doesnt fall?

Fh has 2 and his cats at first climbed the tree but i think they have gotten better as they got older but they do swat all the ornaments at the bottom so i would dangle any at the bottom esp if they are breakable
the tree is always in the corner so that helps it from not falling

My cat only likes to sleep under the tree. She doesnt really mess with it. Occasionally she'll swat at the lower ornaments...but I find it cute!

alright i wont put any ornaments at the bottom but i have a nutso cat that i can see trying to climb the tree lol im realllly hoping he doesnt!

You know, for four years we went w/out a tree because of our cats. Last year we finally got a cheap, fake, 5 ft Wallmart tree and it was worth it. The cats went nuts but then got used to it. They just would sit under it. We had to use bitter apple to spray the lights/wires. One of our cats chews wires. She's very odd, my mom's cats never did that.
Good luck and hang the ornaments kinda high if you can. Ha ha!
Mine didn't climb but this is where you can find them as soon as it goes up:

Thanks! I think they are just lazy, not so much well behaved...
I like how the fake tree has that fake 'branch' wrapping on the 'trunk'. It makes it seem more real. One year I will convince FH that a real tree is a good idea.

Have you ever seen those things thats like a hook that you can hang a plant on? Its like a long gold hook that can swing side to side, for the rest of the year I hang a potted plant, but for x-mas we use it to keep the tree up.

my cat made our tree fall a few years ago, we actually tied the top of it to the curtain holder that went across the window that the tree was in front of lol

my dad cat climbs there tree, they tie a rope and attach it to a wall. Our cat just eats the tree

I don't have any cats but I just wanted to jump in and say that this thread is very entertaining! I'm imagining all your cats climbing the tree and it falling over, it just looks so funny in my head. (i hope that doesn't sound mean cause I dont mean it that way)
