I just came back from a run with FH....both of my hands are swollen. This is the 2nd time this has happened. It happened last time we went running too. It's getting me a little nervous. Anyone have any idea why this is happening or what I can do to prevent it??? Thanks!!!

Re: Question for Runners, Doctors or Nurses
You aren't pumping your arms. If you walk and keep your arms down by your side, the same thing will happen.

Re: Question for Runners, Doctors or Nurses
I'm not a doc or nurse...or near to be one..lol...but I was about to suggest the same thing. My fingers get all big if I don't move my arms when I run or walk... they should move with your legs...gives you a better workout too.

Re: Question for Runners, Doctors or Nurses
Almost every time I run my hands swell, especially if it's a long run. It's totally natural as long as it's not painful or very very swollen to the point you can't move your fingers. If that's the case I would stop and see a doctor. And it's going to happen if you pump your hands or not....I've been a runner for many years. It's worse when it's warm/humid outside.
