Question for the centereach ladies...

Okay we went house hunting this weekend in the area. What are the more desirable parts of centereach? Is there any specific area we should stay away from? We really are not familiar with the area so any advice will be helpful. Thanks!

Re: Question for the centereach ladies...

Hi Kim. DH and I grew up in Centereach and now we're looking to buy in Centereach. I would say (and some may disagree) that there are no 'more desirable' parts of Centereach, just neighborhoods where the houses have been rennovated or where they're building new houses on what was once undeveloped so some neighborhoods appear to be nicer. About 15 years ago, the area near Oxhead Road elementary school was probably considered 'undesirable' but now they've built several gorgeous developments where the houses are going for $500k and more.

If there is a specific neighborhood you look at drop me an FM and I can give you some feedback.

Good Luck!!

HI!

we have lived in centereach for 3 years coming up this summer. I have had friends buy houses in all areas of centereach and I wouldn't say either is more disirable than another. There are 2 high schools here- centereach and new field. We are on the new field side. I have heard great things about both of them. they are both part of the middle country school district.

Since we have lived here I have seen the houses being renovated A LOT and the prices have really increased since we moved in. THere are many new young families moving in.

As in any town, just stay away from the busy streets and you should be fine!

good luck!

I like the area we live in. We are North of Middle Country Raod between Mark Tree and Nichols.
Most of the 'bad' areas I saw were right off of the busy roads. I also like it better north of middle country road compared to south of middle country road.. but that is just my personal preference based on the houses we looked at.

My Aunt and Uncle and my grandparents live in that area too. Its a good area, after all the years they have been there (grandparents were there for 50+ years) they never had a problem.

Oh...and I love that Walmart right there!! ha ha
