Tara,
Did you have the brite smile done? How was it? I still haven't found anyone who wants to do it with me I wish that I could find two other people so that it would be cheaper.

Good Luck

i did Zoom! which i believe is very similar to brite smile. i was told to avoid staining foods (coffee, tea, cola, ketchup, soy sauce, berries, red sauce...there were a lot!) for 48 hours. which i did. now i am back on coffee, my teeth are still great!

I have bonding on my teeth...can you still do brite smile or something like it with bonding?

I heard it is around $400-$500, is that right?

I would Really love to have nice, white teeth, but the pain thing really scares me. My teeth are already somewhat sensitive and I am a huge baby when it comes to pain. Is a pearly white smile worth the agony???

How long does the pain last? Does aspirin help it?

It was $525....im not going to lie...the pain was bad the first day.but i woke up and i was fine the next day...6 ibuprofens later!.but others who have done it did not experience the pain..i think its worth it...they say they should stay white for 3 years if yopu brush regularly.

I have bonding as well, and asked my dentist because I wanted to have my teeth whitened. She said that bonding DOES NOT whiten along with your teeth. Whatever color your bonding is now, it will stay, even after the rest of your teeth are whitened.

That being said, she said that they WOULD be able to re-bond the bonding to almost dye it to match your newly whitened teeth. They do the the whitening first, and then touch up the bonding to match.

I'm planning on doing it either in Sept or Oct, so I can let you know how it goes when I do it.

Re: Question for the girls who did Brite Smile ...

I had this done about a year ago by a NYC dentist...it cost me $700. It was a long procedure, and by the end of the third time (there are 3 20 minute sessions in the one hour) my mouth was too tired to keep open. It definetly worked but it was not as white as i was hoping it.

And the pain that night was horrible. My teeth were so sensitive that I cried when i got home. It felt like someone had put sandpaper onto my teeth and were pushing it back and forth. It was all gone the next morning, but i was soooo miserable that day.

Not worth the money, but my teeth did look a little lighter.....you are NOT going to get movie star white unless you get your teeth bonded which costs about $800 A TOOTH!!! And the dentist said i should of saved my money for that! Which one day i hope to get....

Re: Question for the girls who did Brite Smile ...

Please let me know because I would love to have it done....What dentist are you using? Are you going to brite smile and then back to a regular dentist to fix the bonding or are you doing it in one place.
Thanks

I will FM you as soon as I have it done. I actually live in LA, so unless you want to take a road-trip, I'm thinking that you should find a dentist by you.

I have a regular cleaning with them in 3 weeks, so I'm going to ask them then all about the procedure- how long, how many times to do it with the bonding- all in one sitting or multiples, I really don't know. BUT, it will all be done at my dentist's office, regardless of how many times I go.

I bleached my teeth with the take home trays that you can wear for a number of hours. I wore them to bed. I got excellent results. I did it about two years ago, and my teeth are still white. Good thing for me is that I don't smoke, or drink coffee. I would totally recommend the trays, because you can always touch up and buy more bleach!

Its about $300 now, maybe less.

Do you remember how long you had to wear the trays for? Were your teeth sensitive? I just ask because my wedding is in three weeks...Thanks!!

I just recently did it. I paid 700 and my results werent that great. My teeth got lighter but not whiter. I have seen though people do it and get really great results. If your teeth have gray shades it will NOT get white, if your teeth are yellow they Will .
Pain, yes for 3 days sensitive just to talk.

I also had zoom done and I too had to give up coffee for 48 hours!! Now I drink anything that might stain through a straw!! Yup...that means coffee too!! Its been nine months now and still very white!!
