Question for those cratfy ladies

I am making (or attempting to make) my own table runners. What size should I make them for a 72' round table? I figured it would hand over the edge obviously but not too long.

I went to the city and got a GIGANTIC piece of fabric and he told me 14' x 72' but I don't know if he really knew what he was talking about!

I'd go outside...take some string or washline & lay it out in a 72' circle...then lay the fabric over it to see what looks good with that size... I think 14'-18' might look good on the width...since i have an 18' ruler sitting here next to me...HTH!

Ok...this is going to be a REALLY dumb question. if a table is 72' round does that mean the diameter is 72' ?
