Question for those Ladies already on the Pill... preparation for the Big Day

After all my careful checking (ok not so careful as I thought) it seems I MAY end up with my period right smack during my big day. Well actually ENDING on my big day but still.

So I went to the OBGYN this morning (annual check up) and she says 'no worries, just remmber that month to just skip the green pills and start on your new pack right away.'

Anyone else getting this advice?

I have done this a few times already and it really works! So I would say go for it since you wouldn't want to add another stress to your wedding day.

I've done this before, too, and it does work.

If you can maybe skip it the month before. just as an FYI, some women (me included) have very light breakthrough bleeding (sometimes for a week or two)

Check with your doctor.

its funny that this should come up as a topic right now...i just discovered the same thing the other day, that i will have my period the day of, and i definitely do Not want that. I've tried skipping my period before and it worked one time, and the other time i had my period for about 2 months straight..so i'm a little scared of that.
What i did was last week when i was starting a new pack of pills, i started a day earlier..then next month i'll do another day earlier and every month after til the wedding...hopefully that will work!!

I'm supposed to get it on or right after the wedding too!
The problem with me and the pill though is that my little 'friend' shows up the third week of active pills, NEVER during the placebo week. This makes no sense to me! And I guess that means that I can't do what you all are doing with skipping the placebo pills. I'll have to call my doctor....

BAD EXPERIENCE with this here. I did this to change my cycle and boy was I glad I didnt do this right before my wedding.

I was bloated all over...my boobs were so sore..my face broke out and I spotted for an entire week +....GROSS....I did successfully push up my friend but stilll....I dont know if it was worth.

I am back to normal now though

that's what I did...I was supposed to get it right in the middle of the HM....and if I skipped only one month I was going to be PMS'ing for the wedding....so I skipped 2 months before...and got it when we got home.

See im wondering if I should just stop EARLY this month.. by a week.... Act like that week is my sugar pill week then start the pack again.

See if that moves my period UP a week. I just want my period the week before not the week of.

I am doubling us so I don't get my period on the HM. I did it once before and I am still alive!

X, what pill are you on? You're so far away from your date that you have time to fool around with it. Why don't you try what I do? I'm on Ortho. I've been altering when my period comes. For every month depending on how many days you want it to start earlier, you just throw out a blue pill and take it for the next day instead, it'll come a day earlier. It has worked for me. I've been too scared in the past to skip the placebo pills as I've learned it doesn't work well for some people, and why take that chance on your wedding day.

You can do this for 2 or 3 months. It'll make your period start 2 or 3 days earlier whatever you choose.

Don't stop early it probably won't push up your period and you'll through of your whole cycle. You'll also be at higher risk for pregnancy. Better to skip the sugar pill week and go straight into the next month. You can do this just once or twice to switch your cycle if you want.

I take Ortho CEPT
(im old school)

yah.. I guess I'll just wing it that month. I just HATE spotting!

And Ive been so good on this..
I take it like im supposed to (close enough to the same time each day) and get a 2 and a half day period. That's pretty good, ya know?
Hope when I get back from my honeymoon Im not dripping like stuck pig for a week. SUCH a bummer!

I am supposed to as well. Does that mean I should be doing this now so I don't have it?
