I went on friday afternoon to get a manicure and by Saturday morning some of the polish was already chipping off. And on Sunday every single finger nail had polish chipped and some almost all of the polish was off.
I hate that I spent $10 and had a crappy manicure done. I never had that problem when I had silk wrap on my nails. I just hated sitting in the chair for an hour getting them re-filled every 2 weeks so took them off and decided to just go for manicures now
But does this happen to anyone else...and if not what should I do- go to another place or could it be another problem?!
TIA

Re: Question for those of you who get manicures?!
It happens to me every time, that's why I never waste my money and time getting manicures. A few weeks before the wedding I'll get wraps on my nails so the polish stays on the whole wedding day.

yeah that's what i figured a few weeks before ill get wraps done and then continue until the wedding is over. I just hate it like you said wasting my time and money and the polish doesn't even stay
and it wasn't like i was in chlorine water or washing the dishes making the polish chip...and i mean come on in 1 day it starts chipping. I painted my own toe nails and that polish is staying better haha

This only happens to me when they top file my nail - like file the nail bed. I feel like this makes the polish peel off. You gotta ask them only to file the edge.

actually his happens to me alllll the time!!! I had the UV Gel done for the wedding and they stayed amazinggg through the honeymoon!!! But i just took them off this week and got a mani for friday and by Saturday they were all chipped! BUT my nails are VERY sensitive right now since i took the other nails off!!! If you want get a gel manicure next time the polish will last longer or you can buy the color and just retouch at home!!! That's one thing that stinks about manicures on regular nails....the polish always chips..LOL but i feel your paiN!

My aunt had that happen. She had gone to one of the Angel Nails or one of those. She went back, and showed them, and demanded they re-do them for free, and they did. It's worth a shot....

mine usually lasts 3-4 days b4 it starts to chip. if u do dishes a lot try wearing gloves, that will help the polish to last longer, but there really is no way to avoid the chipping.

Re: Question for those of you who get manicures?!
It depends on where you go. I have been to a few places where it lasts 2-3 days before chipping .. some where it lasts 4-5 ... and one that lasted a whole week. That place was Bay Beauty in Bayville.
It also depends on how they do it, and what products they use. Make sure they use a base coat and a top coat. Also, you can put a coat of clear on the day after - and every day after that - to keep them from chipping. I am going for a mani/pedi on wed i think and am going away for the weekend, so thurs fri sat I will be painting the nails with clear.

it happens to me all the time. i used to get tips, but hate the upkeep, so now i do mani's. i've been trying to go for weekly mani's because of how bad my nails look by the end of the week. usually within a day or two the polish starts to chip. it happens to a lot of people. i love dark colors, but have been getting lighter colors since the chipping is less noticeable.

oh that is a good idea to paint them with clear....they did do a base coat and a top coat which is why i thought it would stay
and i like the place i go to they definitely do my nails really nice hwen i had silk wrap. maybe my nails are just sensitive idk? haha
but it makes me feel better i am not the only one

same here ... The salon I go to uses a duri top coat that keeps my nails from chipping right away and I always sit for awhile to make sure it is fully dry

Re: Question for those of you who get manicures?!
Mine usually last a good part of the week. But, this weekend between cooking, cleaning, and my hands being in water a lot, a couple of them already chipped yesterday just from Friday afternoon. My polish was almost empty and a little thick, so that could be why too. I used a new bottle on my toes. The topcoat my lady uses is pretty good...I find the polish usually lasts longer. I was finding the same thing would happen...they'd chip a day or so later. I can't think of the name right now, but if you want I'll let you know. I think Posh was another one she used though.

I was just going to say that....I always get a really light color on my nails so you don't notice it as much when it chips..Normally they do chip in 2 - 3 days. but i HATE what the wraps do to my nails, it literally takes my nails over a year to recover once I take the wraps off. I'm not even doing it for the wedding. I'll just get another mani on my honeymoon.
But here's the weird part...my pedicure polish stays on and doesn't chip for 2 weeks.

Re: Question for those of you who get manicures?!
I gave up my acrylics and started using nailtek - I have great nails now and when I get manis they usually last at least 5 days - funny thing is mine stays longer when I get a french mani Use a good base & top coat. You can also give a quick clear coat on your own to make it last longer.
