actually his happens to me alllll the time!!! I had the UV Gel done for the wedding and they stayed amazinggg through the honeymoon!!! But i just took them off this week and got a mani for friday and by Saturday they were all chipped! BUT my nails are VERY sensitive right now since i took the other nails off!!! If you want get a gel manicure next time the polish will last longer or you can buy the color and just retouch at home!!! That's one thing that stinks about manicures on regular nails....the polish always chips..LOL but i feel your paiN!

ITA get the UV gel - i could go for a month without going back when i got that

it is too $$$ to get all the time but that is what i had for the wedding and it was perfect

my manicures NEVER last, i just got a fancy manicure at this spa i go to and i made DH wash the dishes all week and they are STILL messed up! GR!

hey!! no actually i haven't yet...just trying to figure out the finances as of now with FH to see if we should really even bother with putting money into a DOC if it could go elsewhere.

but i definitely am thinking more and more about it haha thanks for asking though!! i'll definitely let you know!

The reason your manicure is not lasting is b/c of the products being used and most probably the Technician that is preforming the manicure - or combo.

Natural nails with polish will only last max of 5 -7 days.
You can extend the life with topcoat.

We have natural oils in our body that release every day and polish will eventually give way (polish is alcohol based) if there is no protection on top of the nail like a wrap or an acrylic overlay. Every day wear and tear from everyday things like water and cleaning products..etc..does not help.


My suggestion is not return to the place - find another salon.
I also recommend keeping clear on your nails over color. Some colors can weaken Natural nails.

Wow thats crazy, my manicure polish lasts just about a week

I used to have wraps and i loved it, cause it would never chip just gently fade around the edges after a while but like you i can not sit in the chair that long

Maybe try a different place for your manicure and maybe try a light color, i usually use Essie polish, in sugar daddy, high maintenance, starter wife, etc.
I know with the darker colors they tend to really chip faster and you notice it more

This only happens to me when they top file my nail - like file the nail bed. I feel like this makes the polish peel off. You gotta ask them only to file the edge.

that's weird because this time the lady really only did file the edge of my nails.... i just hate spending the money to make my nails look nice and then they look like crap the next day haha

wanna do my nails for me?!

Absolutely, but just know t hat I'm going to paint them flourescent orange. I hope thats ok.

I hate UV if it is working for you that is great However I do NOT prefer it at all over any other overlay.
The manicurist told you that b/c she is sold on it and probably does the application well.
She is incorrect about it being easier on your nails - the product does NOT break down under any circumstances unless you file it. Ask her next time you go how she plans on fixing your nails if one cracks in half or if you decide to take them off how she will get the product off


I would JUST LOVE To know what kind of advise she is going to give you about filing
