no they LOVE american money and you can use it as more of a bargaining too. also they accepted all major credit cards, and it just converted the dollars
i dont think people really use travelors checks anymore...

I've been there many times. The friendliest islanders. Accept American cash and credit cards. Just call your card companies to notify out of country spending so they don't shut off the card. Also you must go to el gaucho if you like steak- the best. Pinchos is very romantic restaurant on top of a dock in the water. Good luck!

I've been there twice and u def do not need travelers checks...I also second el gaucho and Texas di Brazil...where r u staying in aruba?

Definitely make sure you visit Baby Beach! It was the most beautiful water I have ever seen!
I got by on cash and my visa card just fine.
