I am starting to get my program ready. My FH's mom is deceased and we were both wondering if she should be listed in the Wedding Party section as The Late Elizabeth XXXX, or if it's ok if we have her in 'the in memory' section. We are both clueless!
TIA! Christine

Re: Question for those with a deceased parent
I am not putting anything- My Dad didn't want his name on the invites w/o my Mom's- so we just did the together with their familes
It's too soon for us to do a memeoral candle or something like that- and my Dad does not feel comfortable doing anything like that - it's really too soon for us ( 1 year next week) It would be to sad for everyone I think- I want it to be a happy day- and so would she
The one thing I am doing is donationing money to lukiemia lymphoma society in memeory of my mom as the favor- so she is included on the favor cards-

Re: Question for those with a deceased parent
My FH's mom also passed away. His aunt is going to stand in her place and we're going to have a Memory Candle in her honor.
That's pretty much how we're going to list it in the program. Memory Candle in honor of Groom's mom, Jane Smith. Groom's aunt, Anne Smith will be standing in her place. Something to that effect.

Re: Question for those with a deceased parent
None of our parents are living. We chose not to do any sort of memorial, except for mentioning them in the prayer of the faithful during our mass. Anything more than that would have been too emotional for us (and the last of the 4 parents passed away in 1996).
It is such a personal choice - do what you are comfortable with, I don't think people who love you are likely to look down on whatever you decide to do.

Re: Question for those with a deceased parent
YES!!!! My DH mom is deceased and besides saying her name in the reading Prayer of the faithful, a memory candle her name was DEF put in the program grooms parents- Mr. XXX XXXX and Mrs. XXXX XXXX ( dec.) that is what the church told us to write too. they said not to put the late and on the last page of the program was a poem that mentioned her and the rest of deceased family members- grandparents/uncles/cousins- all very dear to us.
