Question for Vanderbilt brides

Hi Girls,

I just absolutely love the Vanderbilt Mansion - I have not arranged a visit yet because I don't want to set myself up for dissapointment if I can't book. Let me ask you, have any of you found that they are flexible with the number of guests? I believe they require 110 on a Sat afternoon and 125 for a sat evening. I would be able to garuntee 100 guests and even that is probably 5 to 10 more than who will come, but I am willying to suck up the cost, but I don't think I am willing to pay for another 10 to 25 people extra.

COngrats on the enagagement - with the number you think you can guarantee, did you include your vendors that will be there...you can ask if you can include them in your number and I think you can.....best thing to do is call Maryann and ask her. She is VERY helpful!

I don't think they are flexible with the number. I am right at the 110 mark and might have to suck it up also. But They will include vendor and will include the children. Normally you pay 50$ for kids and half price for vendors, and they don't count towards the min. but they will count them towards it.. however you pay the full price for them.

For the number of guests, you shouldn't have a problem - take mcc's advise and see if you can include the vendors.

I had my heart set on having my wedding there because I'm a volunteer and spend a lot of time there. Unfortunately, I met with MaryAnn once and had a very bad meeting. She was not very nice and wasn't willing to adjust their menu so it wasn't quite as much food.... and they were expensive for the reception and ceremony. She even suggested I go to 21 Main to have my wedding instead of the Mansion!!! I was thoroughly dissappointed - she could care less.
