It is normal to be pregnant and not be constipated? A friend of mine who is pregnant is freaking out because she's not and one of the books she is reading says that most pregnant people are. I remember when I was pregnant I was so I didn't know what to tell her.
Also, She wants to know if she can drink green tea.
Thanks for your help!

As long as she keeps fiber in her diet and drinks plenty of water the chance of her getting constipated is low. I wasnt with Emma but this time I didnt drink as much water and have been a few times. Its all because your digestive system slows down and your intestines are being cramped by baby. Isnt pregnancy grand?
As for the green tea I drank some Arazona Green Tea but I dont know about drinking it daily. I would ask my doc!

Re: Question for you
I'm totally opposite, I get diarrhea (TMI, sorry) and my stomach feels so off for weeks. I guess everyone is different.
My doc said no to Green tea and any other herbal teas.

Re: Question for you
I was never constipated either. In fact everything was pretty 'regular' in that department! Tell her to be thankful, less chance of hemorrhoids!

Re: Question for you
In my 2nd pregnancy right now, and with both, I became more regular... in fact, INSANELY regular, like 3-4 times a day! It all depends on your diet. I'm a vegetarian so I eat lots and lots and lots of fiber, so with the hormones and increased metabolism, I find myself running to the bathroom all the freakin' time!

Re: Question for you
I was wondering if something was wrong with me also, but the dr said everything is fine. I am even more regular now before than before I was pg. TMI, but I am averaging 2-3 times a day. I drink a lot of water, so I think that is definitely helping me.

Re: Question for you
I never had that problem. If she is reading that stupid What to Expect book tell her to just throw it away. it causes a lot of women unneccessary stress. There are much better books out there such as A Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy and A Thinking Women's Guide to a Better Birth.

Re: Question for you
I wasn't constipated at all. Like the other girls have said, I think I become more regular. I do drink a lot of water and eat fairly healthy as well.
