OK I just went off my BC we are not TTC yet, I just wanted to get off it so when we want to start trying we can so here is my question I drink at least once a week, smoke cigarettes and weed I am scared that I will get prego while I am not trying and my lifestyle will affect the baby. The reason that we are not TTC is because I am not ready to change my life yet so would you stop everything even if you were not TTC? Should I stay on BC till I am ready? I am very confused on what to do please help Thanks

Should I stay on BC till I am ready?

This is my vote...
If you are not ready to give up cigs and weed, don't take the chance.

I agree with the girls... go back on BC until you're ready. In order to ensure a healthy baby in your future, your body has to be in tip-top shape for a little while before your conceive.
Good luck! And I hope that you kick your bad habits soon.

Definitely stay on them until you can give these habits up. Accidents happen and the baby would be the one to suffer if you continue you habits.

Re: Question for you girls
You really should stay on some form of BC until you are truly ready to conceive although if you were to get PG your lifestyle probably would NOT hurt the baby that early on - especially if you found out you were PG early -by the 5th week and stopped doing all that. Well, at least I know the drinking and the smoking wouldn't do anything. I don't know about the weed.

I agree also. Go back on BC and try to slow down to almost nothing, then go off the BC and start to take Vitamins

eta: if you're not ready to change your lifestyle, then you shouldn't even be thinking about ttc....you should grow up first...you know what they say about babies having babies

Re: Question for you girls
I agree - give it up before you TTC. You dont want to give birth to a little joint with a beer and cigarette in its hand!

Why not use a condom? Pills are not the only form of birth control.

Re: Question for you girls
No, I think you should keep smoking cigarettes and weed, as well as drinking, and hopefully pass those habits on to your offspring, as well.
