Question from an 07er for those that Honeymooned in Hawaii
If you booked excursions in advance, where did you book them? Was it online or through your hotel?
TIA!

I did everything through my travel agent...then again I did book one thing with her. They know a lot but when you are there...they can be a tad cheaper to book there, depending on what it is. Like a Laui out...book w/agent because you need a reservation.

The only 'excursion' we booked in advance was the Old Lahaina Luau, since it books up rather far in advance.
We booked helicopter tours, dinner reservations, spa trips for me and golf for DH when we got there. The hotel concierge was amazing at all of the places we stayed! Definitely take advantage of them!

This is the one, I was looking to book in advance. Did you book it online? Also, how did you like it? Was it worth the money?
Thanks!

We enjoyed it a lot! The only thing I would've done differently was that we opted for the traditional mat seating and it got a little uncomfortable because you are sitting for awhile. I'd opt for the table seating if I went again.

We booked everything when we got there either through the hotels or through those people where you sit at a time share and go to things cheaper or for free.

The only thing we booked in advance was the most 'authentic luau' according to our travel agent on Maui - the old Lahaina Luau. We also booked Pearl harbor tour on Oahu. All the other excursions we booked through each hotel's conceirge service.

We booked everything when we got there.
However on the last island Maui we were closed out of a lot of luaus!
So my suggestion is book some thing 1 or 2 you really wanna do then play by ear with the others. You may change your mind when you are there....like if you are sitting on the beach and all of a sudden you see a sunset sail for like 20 bucks and wanna go. That happened to us and we were glad we didnt book everything and had all the days planned out from minute to minute

We did not book anything in advance. We booked all our excursions thru the hotel. We did one luau in Kuaui at the Princeville. At the other islands we did not.
Have fun!!! I want to go back.

we booked everything while we were there....but if you want to go to the old lahaina luau, i would definetly recommend doing it ahead of time.....it is usually booked up ahead of time

We didnlt book anything in advance. At the Hyatt in Kauai, we never wanted to leave the hotel. I would not book a helicopter tour in advance because they cancel them frequently, due to clouds. Just call the places and go on a day that they are running them. We had one that was cancelled just between the time we called in the AM and when we arrived for the flight.

I guess that old lahaina luau was popular among us!

Just don't get the Old Lahaina Luau mixed up with the Royal Lahaina Luau. We did and the Royal Lahaina Luau wasn't that good.

Booked everything when we got to each island. We went to the Luau at the Hyatt on Maui. It was pretty good, but we probably should have gone to the Old Lahaina Luau like everyone else did. We drove around a lot and did our own things, but certain things we booked through the hotels. They are really a great resource.
