Question - Jobs in HR

I currently work in training but would like to work in an HR dept and work more with Hiring, benefits etc. or even training but not my complete job. I have a BA in psychology and 6 years training/education experience.

Can I get hired into a more general HR position with just training experience?

Does anyone have any HR advice or jobs to share???

Thank You!!!

Re: Question - Jobs in HR

I have a Master's in HR with no background in specifically HR. All the HR generalist jobs were about $30,000, so I couldn't take the pay cut to switch to HR. Plus, it is the first area to be cut when companies downsize...

Re: Question - Jobs in HR

Yes, you can definitely get an asst. job. If you don't find something right away, they are always looking for temps in HR, so that's a way in! If you have no luck finding jobs in the paper or online, go to your temp agency and ask them if they have any HR positions that are temp to perm.

Re: Question - Jobs in HR

My DH works in HR. He has no HR experience. He has a bachelor of Music from a conservatory. He was temping with his company when he decided to get out of theatre. The company found out that he was looking for a more secure profession and offered him a position. He is now going to school for his MBA and his company helps pay for 1/2. So, it can be done.
