What do you think is going to have to be your biggest adjustment during your first year of marriage?

oh my answer will be having to share my space with somebody and my space becoming OUR space (im an only child)

For him it will have to be managing money lol

Good question.

We have been living together for a bout a year and a half, so I'm not worried about that. But I think one of the biggst adjustments for me will be getting used to a new last name.

wow...there are so many things I need to get used to! Not living at home, living with FH in a new house. Having a new last name, spending holidays away from home, cooking, paying more bills, sharing money...i could probably go on!

Both FH and I have lived home all our lives (except for a few years away at school), so this is going to be a WHOLE new experience! I can't wait to dive right in!!!

im freaked out about the bills~!~

I wish I was out of the house, but then that really means alot of financial responsibilities.. ugh!! We haven't even begun to look for apartments..

Signing my new last name and sharing money. I'm actually terrible at this. We opened a joint savings, but actually having to pay bills together and combining our money is weird for me lol

living together. giving up my closets.
for me it will be living with someone for the first time EVER. for him it will probably be not having mommy to cook, clean and do his laundry though I'll do all that stuff for him when i can but I work longer hours and go to school so he will help like he does now - he cooks more than i do, he's the BEST.

Re: Question of the Day (Thursday)

We just bought a townhouse together so the living together we'll have down by June. I know that the hardest part will be sharing money. We have separate accounts right now, with 1 account together for house stuff...but still both of our spending is our own. I am a lot more 'thrifty' then he is so it's hard. I see that being the biggest adjustment.

Him snoring. He's so loud.

I hear ya. Their is this new product that was recently advertised in the new issue of Life and Style Mag. It's called a snore resist band. It's basically attached to your wrist and when it hears a snore, sends a signal by sending a shock through your body. This wakes u up forcing you to change body position. It's 85 bucks. I wouldnt get it because I'll be afraid it shocks FH.

Re: Question of the Day (Thursday)

i didnt realize so many people still lived at home and not with their FH - i dont think i could ever do that.....even if you've been with your FH for years and years aren't you afraid that you might not like living with him? even if you see your FH everyday its a pretty big adjustment when you move in together- especially if you both never had any responsibilities before....obviously it worked out fine for FH and I but I just couldn't imagine that added stress on top of the wedding - im glad we got it out of the way 2 years ago For us, living together for awhile is what made us positive that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and take the next step and get married. you girls are brave! all the power to you!! i'd be a stressed out mess!

We have lived together for about a year and a half now and already have shared bank accounts, so I think the biggest adjustment is going to be my new last name.

Re: Question of the Day (Thursday)

having to consider FH in MY schedule. I am very organized and VERY on schedule ( i mean to the minute it is sad ). I leave my house within the same 5 minutes every single day, and when I leave my room is SPOTLESS - nothing is left for when I come home.

It is going to be really hard maybe having to wait ten minutes for him to get out of the shower so I can go in. Or knowing that I left first so the bed won't be made.

Also, my mom does all the cooking and cleaning in my house so it will be an adjustment for me to have to come home and cook, do laundry and clean up. But, as you can tell - I am SUPER organized so once I get into a schedule I will be fine. I am sure it will cause problems at first but I will get used to it!

I am sure that you girls will see A LOT of complaining posts in the first six months he he
