What do you think is going to have to be your biggest adjustment during your first year of marriage?

i didnt realize so many people still lived at home and not with their FH - i dont think i could ever do that.....even if you've been with your FH for years and years aren't you afraid that you might not like living with him? even if you see your FH everyday its a pretty big adjustment when you move in together- especially if you both never had any responsibilities before....obviously it worked out fine for FH and I but I just couldn't imagine that added stress on top of the wedding - im glad we got it out of the way 2 years ago For us, living together for awhile is what made us positive that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and take the next step and get married. you girls are brave! all the power to you!! i'd be a stressed out mess!
I'm definitely nervous about living together. It is going to be the BIGGEST adjustment! I hope we can work through that and not have it make things harder on us!! FH always says he's more excited about living with me, which makes me feel good, and we've already been delegating household responsibilities!!

i thought it was alot of fun the beginning - it was like a never ending sleep over of course we had to get used to A LOT of things that were different than when I used to sleepover his parents house - like who would cook, clean, do laundry, make the bed, clean the bathroom, walk the dog, feed the dog, lock the doors, who would pay what bill, sharing a car, who didnt remember to put gas in the car, food shopping, leaving the lights on, i could go on and on BUT we never fought about any of those things they just took time to get used too - and now we have a routine i guess hahahaha....
i just couldnt imagine dealing with the wedding expenses and stress AND looking for a place to live and having all new bills and stuff....that would make me crazy - im too nervous as it is!! so i commend you!

Re: Question of the Day (Thursday)
probably just a new last name. we've lived together, shared money and paid bills together for the last five years.

Re: Question of the Day (Thursday)
Definitely just having FH home since our whole relationship he has been away and even though i have known him for 15 years already and know ALOT about him from just talking all the time on the phone I know there will be some adjustments made....especially with his bedroom- he doesnt want to give up on how it looks!! It is very Marineish haha. And his room is in the apt we are going to live in for a year or two at HIS parents house...so that is another thing I am worried about adjusting too- always seeing his parents. I love them but you know...
And also getting used to cooking all the time I dont know how

Re: Question of the Day (Thursday)
Hmmm. This is definitely a good question. We got engaged in Feb. and have been living together for about 5 months now. Our biggest adjustment then was sharing expenses and having to talk about where our money was spent. But we opened a joint checking and savings together and that pretty much fixed that. We both have our own accounts to do what we want with-no questions asked and then join checking and savings for our bills.
I guess the only thing that will change is my last name AND our credit will be combined. Does anyone know if your credit is affected once you get married or is that only on purchases bought together (like a house)?
