Is it just me or is this what they all do: Do you get a copy of what the estimate was that you discussed with the florist or no? I just found it strange that I wasn't given a copy of anything even though I asked for it. How do I know what the breakout is of everything?? Luckily I wrote stuff down but I just found it weird... This is my first visit to a florist so not sure if this is okay or not. But I still find it weird and fishy..

Re: Question on Florists
You got one before you even booked right? I was told I would get an itemized estimate when I put down my deposit. YA OK!! DEF. won't be going back there!!!

Re: Question on Florists
Some places I visited for a first meeting did not give me the written estimate they had quoted me. I thought it was werid, but it happened at a few places. Just be sure to see the orginal contract before you book.

I wouldn't go with a florist that wouldn't give me a breakdown...

Re: Question on Florists
There was one florist that I went to who told me that after I put down deposit that she would give me a copy of the paper she wrote everything on.
So I told a tiny lie that my mom was supposed to come with me that day but she had hurt her leg. (ell my mom did hurt her leg but she was at work) So she gave me a copy of the contract with all the prices. Sometimes you have to be a little bit of an actress!

Re: Question on Florists
We got a breakdown before we left. One place mailed me one about a week later which was okay too but I didn't wind up going with them. They should give you a complete break down of all prices. I am sure you want to know what you are paying per centerpiece or bouquet.

Re: Question on Florists
I got a quote of almost $20,000 for flowers. They did not include an itemized breakdown!!! They just wrote that five-digit number on the estimate. I absolutely do not like that! It is important to know how the number is derived.

Re: Question on Florists
I don't think I should have to lie to a vendor to get an itemized estimate. That is just shady business practices to me and I refuse to book with a vendor that would do something like that. All other vendors I visited, whether I booked them or not, gave me an estimate. What makes a florist so different??

Re: Question on Florists
I also got an itemized breakdown, and a copy of everything he had gone over with me that day, without even a mention of if I was going to book with him or not. I wouldn't want to deal with a florist who felt a need to be so shady, you should know exactly what you are paying for!

Re: Question on Florists
I did not get an itemized breakdown, but I'm not too worried. I was given a cost for my centerpieces, so I subtracted that total cost from my final total and felt that the remaining cost was appropriate for the other arrangements/items I am having done.
