As you already know, I am so late with mailing my invites. They are going out today. Is there anything I should know about mailing my invites? I think I remember you guys mentioning something about the Post Office Hand marking them? Was that the only concern?

Re: Question on Mailing Invitations
Other than having them weighed for correct postage and having the post office hand cancel them, I can't think of anything else except CONGRATS!!!
Oh, wait -- did you mark your RSVP cards lightly with numbers? I've heard that's a good thing to do because sometimes people RSVP and don't put their names or you can't read their handwriting, etc. You keep a record of the number you wrote (very lightly with a pencil on the back) on each rsvp card and who it was too. Then, when they come back you can check them off.

Re: Question on Mailing Invitations
Do you just ask them at the post office to hand mark them? I didn't know about that.

Re: Question on Mailing Invitations
I just mailed out my invites today!! YEAH!!!!!! And i waited on line in the post office for about 20 minutes and asked them to mail them out.. I already checked my postage and stamped them, so you just give them to a teller and they mail them out...

Re: Question on Mailing Invitations
Just make sure they are weighed, have the proper postage on them, and have them hand canceled. Have fun waiting for your responses!!

Re: Question on Mailing Invitations
I guess if they are hand cancelled don't get smugged when they run them through the machine.

Re: Question on Mailing Invitations
I also heard, to mail yourself an invite BEFORE mailing out ALL the invitations. Its to make sure there's no problems with your fonts (legible), ink (gets smudged) or postage, because you wouldn't want them ALL to come back 'Return to Sender'
