I am considering the 'standard' cocktail hour. It includes 10 passed hors d'oeuvres and an antipasto display. Is this enough food? EMO20:

Re: Question re: Vanderbilt Mansion
Hi. I am getting married there also, and I was so lucky to be able to attend a wedding there as a guest a few weeks ago. I can assure you that you will have a wonderful wedding there. I was so observant of EVERY detail, and everything was perfect. The service and food were the best I've had at a wedding and I was being extra picky.
I am also considering just getting the standard menu. The wedding I went to had only that and I felt that there was enough food. They had a lot of people walking around with trays and the food was constantly being refilled. I may add an additional station or two, but I' haven't decided yet.
The dance floor did get a little crowded at times, but no one seemed to mind. It didn't prevent anyone from dancing or having a great time. How many guests are you having? and are you having a DJ or band?
No problems withthe bathroom at all. If you have any more questions, I'd be ahpy to answer them

Re: Question re: Vanderbilt Mansion
My wedding is August 17th. I will be having 130-140 guests and I'm having a band, so I'm a little concerned about the dance floor being crowded. But I guess I would rather have a crowed dance floor, than an empty one.
We are also having our ceremony in the courtyard, as long as the weather is good.
My planning is going well so far. I've booked a band, photo, video, make-up and have ordered my gown. I'm working on flowers and invites now. I still have to find clergy (a preist and rabbi) and that is getting me stressed. How is yours going?

Re: Question re: Vanderbilt Mansion
We have done the following so far: Photography Video Ceremony Music - Harp DJ Favors Flowers My Dress and veil Bridesmaids Dresses We still need to take care of invitations, gather addresses, registering, and groom/groomsmen attire (& all of the details!). We found a priest who had no problem with doing a religious ceremony outdoors. If you would like his number, e-mail me!
