Question re Dad’s and FH’s

Last night I told FH that he is in so many ways like my dad. Patient, kind, thoughtful, giving, loving, understanding… the list is never ending. Overall, an amazing man I have in my life that I wouldn’t change in the world.
Does anyone feel like in a way your FH has very similar traits as your Dad?
I can’t wait till the wedding day. To see my dad next to me as we walk down the aisle and to see FH waiting for me at the end just brings tears to my eyes. I hope my make-up can handle it!

Re: Question re Dad’s and FH’s

Fh and my dad are so much alike that it scares me sometimes! We have been living away for the past year, so whenever we go home it is so in my face as to how much they are alike! But in a ll the right and good ways I guess it's true what they say!

Re: Question re Dad’s and FH’s

every day my FH does or says something that reminds me of my father...this past weekend it was wandering off in a mall and not telling anyone where he was going...but generally they share the 'good' stuff as well as the annoying habits

I am a TOTAL daddy's little girl (only child) and I know I am going to be an emotional mess with Dad on one side walking me to FH....

My dad and DH are nothing alike in personality, looks, etc. But lately my DH has been started with these new things that totally annoy me which are the same exact things my dad does to my mom!!! Not good!!!

In some ways ..yes. In others NO I WISH HE WAS!!! the other night, he forgot to lock the doors at night and take out the trash.....Dad would never have done that.

If you have found someone like your Dad you are sooo lucky...don't get me wrong, I love my FH more than anything in the world....but he's a little different than my Dad. They both like tools and fishing though

Re: Question re Dad’s and FH’s

Absolutely. In fact, when my uncle first met my FH, he said that he reminded him of my dad too. They're both the strong, silent type and both would do anything they had to do to take care of their family. My best friend once told me that I'd never get married b/c I'm too much of a daddy's girl and the guys I dated never measured up. The minute I realized FH reminded me of my dad was when I knew I wanted to marry him!

Re: Question re Dad’s and FH’s

Hi Wanda

I really did not know my dad and he has passed away.

I did want to say that they say that typically women like to pick men that resemble their dad in some way.

You and Carl are so cute together!!!

My dad & John are like father & son, some say they even resemble one another.

They also hang out alot together.

They are the loves of my life

Hey Kysha

I guess that saying does make sense with me. The best part is Carl is starting to mimic some of my Dad’s expressions and he does the head movements to the T! It cracks me up!!

Your FH must be so happy to have a strong and positive woman like yourself. Even though you did not have your father in your life, you still are an amazing woman!

Re: Question re Dad’s and FH’s

Nothing at all alike. My FH is fun-loving and people adore him. My dad is very uptight and most times outright cold and mean towards my mother, myself, and my siblings.

I'm very pleased that I've found someone so loving and different from what I knew as a child.
