Question re: paying for vendors at your reception...

Hi,

So my dad just asked me about paying for the vendors (DJ/Photographers) to eat at our reception. I never even thought of that ....

Does anyone know the answer to this? If so is it the same amount p/p that you are paying for your guests?

it usually half the price and it's the right thing to do to feed them. usually DJ and photographer&assistant and videographer and if u have a live musician. but I also heard that u can use feeding them as part of the tip. so my venue charges $40 per vendor to eat, if I was going to tip them $100 I would feed them and only tip $60. I used to work as a photographer assistant that's how I know.

Our venue is half the price per person for the vendors.

This. Most of the RH have you pay half price just as long as you meet the minimum requirement of guests.

Ours is actually less than half, it's only $35 a vendor meal. You definitely should feed them and some even put in their contract that if you don't feed them they can leave the venue for a certain amount of time to go eat.

Definitely check with your venue...I don't have to pay for any of my vendors' meals!

At my venue, if you are using vendors on their preferred list, they don't charge for their meals. A little bit of an incentive to do so I suppose!

obviously we will take care of them, but I wasn't sure how much they would charge. This makes me annoyed because we are going to see two DJs monday- one is a preferred vendor and the other one is not. I have to call the vendor before Monday and ask their policy.

I don't have to use preferred vendors for them to eat free! So definitely ask your venue.

Feeding them should not be part of your tip.

Our RH charges nothing for in house vendors, but everyone outside you have to feed yourself. I think it is half price per person. We are using all outside vendors most likely. I figured we might order pizza or heroes for them. It might be cheaper that way.

Our venue is charging us half price for the vendors. If we went with the 'preferred vendors' we wouldn't have to pay... but the extra 50 bucks to feed each of them is worth it because I'm getting what I want. I'll be feeding 4 vendors- Dj, photobooth attendant, photographer and photographer assistant!

My venue also has the policy that vendors from their preferred list are free, and any other vendor is 1/2 price.

All of the vendors I'll be using that will need to eat aren't on the preferred list, but it's a nice incentive!
