Question spun from Stacey's post...

I don't know what Stacey vented about, I didn't read that original post, but I was just thinking about something....

If you read a post on these boards where someone was bad-mouthing your best friend, would you tell her?

Now I am not saying that was the case in this situation...I think this person stepped over the line running and talking about Stacey's post being it was family related, but I was trying to look at it from a different perspective.

What do you girls think??

I think it was pathetic what the girl did..

Who does she think she is the FBI of teh internet.. Did she do it to prove a point or do it not thinking Stacey would find ever find out.
Whatever the case may be the girl is REALLY a Pathetic loser and I feel even sorrier for her husband to be..
I mean maybe she should take up some hobbies..............
Talk about Spare time!

All I know!!! Is whatever I vent about inlaws, friends and whatever I would tell them to their face its the type of personI am ..

But may Stacey and her family find Peace and may this girl always know what a low life she is!

T you are right, this girl stepped over the line because it came to family. I just wondered what you girls would do if you saw a vent about someone on here that you were friends with. I would mind my business. I don't know you ladies personally, so whatever 'issues' you had with whoever you can deal with yourself..

Not if it was family....when it's family involved I'd keep my nose out of it...it just wouldn't belong there...period!

Edited because I just realized..I wouldn't do it if it was a friend either. If I'm not involved, I don't go running. Period.

i would never, because, it's none of my business. when people are mad and upset they say things they don't really mean and they get over it. what happened to stacy was horrible, this girl caused so many problems between her and her family, and i would feel terrible if i knew i did that.

Sometimes when we vent we often dont use the best language. People can't be taking all this seriously, especially in cyberspace, where often you need to portray things with amplification to get your point across. We often forget that this is the internet and not our own little community.

But when someone reads it, its a lot bigger and worse then it being said.

Just incase this thread comes across as misconstrued, I am on your side Stacey. There are enough issues among families without an outsider getting involved.

I would never. It is very unfortunate that this person breached the confidentiality of this board. Stacey felt comfortable enough with us to post this and trusted our judgment to ask our opinions. Now, people will censor their posts fearing someone will tattle on them. That girl is pathetic and should be ashamed of herself!

Kim.. I see your question.

If it were a friend of mine..and someone bad mouthed them.

Well..
A) I would assume they were already on this site to begin with. So I'd defend them directly to that person and if it's an open post, I'd point out the post to them to see what they felt.
B) If it was a private post (FM), well I'd tell that person to go shove it. If they had an issue with my friend to take it up wtih them.
C) If for god only knows what reasons it was a rude post about a friend of mine who is not connected to LIWeddings.. why would that friend even be known on this site is beyond me. I would defend her/him to that person here, but in my opinion it's JUST the internet. Why would I bother a friend of mine who could care less what people here thought of her who were too chicken Sh!t to say to her face? Most of my friends wouldn't care and I wouldn't bother them with it. Most of my friends are pretty good at defending themselves.

Still.. I don't know any friends of mine other than my MOH who I care enough about to defend that isn't already ON this site.

Personally, I don't know anyone on here so this really isnt an issue for me. To be honest I think it would depend on the situation and what was said on whether I would talk to a friend about a post. I really cant even think of a scenario where I would talk.

THis situation really makes me realize that nothing said on these boards are secure and you have to be careful with what you say.

Re: Question spun from Stacey's post...

If it was between family, definitely wouldn't say anything because its not my business. If it was detrimental to my friend's health or if her husband was cheating or anything like that, I'd put her in a position to figure it out on her own.

This is the problem with putting your feelings in writing. Your anger has passed but the words remain to come back to haunt you. This certainly doesn't excuse what was done to Stacey, in fact, I think it should be seriously considered by those who would hold it against her. When you put it in writing you don't get a chance to take it back, and thats what makes this persons' actions so wrong IMO.

If it were a close friend of mine, then yes I would tell. Since it is on a public forum, I'm assuming the feelings being shared to hundreds of people on the site are not confidential.

If its the truth that is being spoken there is no need to say anything everyone involved already know this. Why run around like children spreading gossip, so unecessary. IMO

No way....

You never know what 'vents' are founded and what 'vents' are just the regular b.s. we all complain about. You could damage a relationship beyond repair by telling them; meanwhile it could have been a nothing incident that would blow over.

Why cause permanent damage over a temporary state of mind? Oh yeah, because you're a nasty viper, that's why (like the snitch in Stacey's life!).

Do you know how many times I've been burned by causual rants that have been blown out of porportion by my SIL who was looking to cause family drama? Please...meanwhile she's the biggest perpetrator of gossip and lies...

People like that MAKE ME SICK!!
