Question to the experienced brides about marriage lisence
I know you can only go 60 days before the wedding but where? Do you go to the city you live in (e.g. Long Beach? Does it matter which one? What are the hours? Thanks for the help.

You go to a town hall- it doesnt matter which one. I lived in Huntington but went to Brookhaven because it was closer to my job.
All of the towns have different hours. Google it for whatever town you live in.

You can go to any town hall in NY as long as you are getting married here. Hours vary so you might have to do a search on them.

I went to Long Beach, because we live in Island Park, and it took less than 10 minutes. It doesn't matter where you go.

any town hall in New York State. I think they're only open M-F during reg. business hours. Some might be open more than that though.

We also went to Long Beach ... took us about 20 minutes ... . They were great. And there's a parking lot right out in front (not sure if other town hall's have a parking lot )

We live in Woodbury but went to Hempstead to get our marriage license. We were in & out within 20 minutes and I had my marriage license when I got back from my honeymoon.

THANK YOU> I think we will both have to take the day off. Even in the times of wedding saving, I love an excuse to go to lunch.

You can go to any town hall. You can go to the city you live in. I would check with the town hall by you for hours...many have bad hours (like 9-4), but a lot stay open late one night. I went to Hampton Bays/Southampton and they were open at 8:30. I got married in Smithtown...doesn't really matter-I would just find the one that is convenient.
My other tip is this-I would go in advance and plan a few days you are available. DH and I went about 50 days prior, but the printer was not working and we had to come back, so we were glad we planned ahead. Also, keep it in a safe place!
