Question, what do u consider to be a 'big' wedding?
Just wondering. We are having 150 people... is that considered big? I always thought it was average, but when people ask me how many and I tell them, they are like- 'Wow that is a big wedding!'

I've learned that it depends who I'm speaking to. With some people 200+ is big, with other 100+ is big. I think it depends a lot on the size of people's families. Regardless we are planning to have around 175 and that is certainly big to us!

We're planning to have around 200, and I think that's fairly big, but not too big. I've been to more than one wedding that had 300-500 guests.

I think anything over 200 is big. My former co-worker had 740 people at his wedding. His mother was the mayor of their town in New Jersey so I think they invited close to 1400

Mine will be just around 100, which is not big IMO ... I think 200+ can officially be called 'big'

Ha! Good question - I used to think 200 was BIG ... BUT my FSIL invited 500 people to her wedding!! I wouldn't even know where to house 500 people - LOL!

I think anything over 200 is BIG. 100-180 about average these days. Plus you can have a small number of people coming to your wedding and still have a BIG wedding...depending how elaborate you make it

Re: Question, what do u consider to be a 'big' wedding?
I guess it depends on who you talk to. For me 250+ is a big wedding. When I tell family members that I am trying to keep the guest list to 225, they say 'oh, you're keeping it small.' I know some people will be disappointed when they don't get an invite, but I can't afford to invite everyone. My family is sooooo big, it can easily go to 500 people.
My mom had about 700 people at her wedding. I think that's insane. After 27 years of marriage she still has a basement full of gifts she hasn't used yet!
