I make almost double what FH makes... It used to cause problems when we didn't have joint accounts but we've made the switch to each having a personal account and then having a joint checking/savings account too. As far as having kids, we haven't decided how to handle whether I will leave work and stay at home or if we will both continue to work. We can definitely survive on FH's salary but life would definitely be much better with both salaries... We'll see what happens.

I make lots more...but he makes a great salary and I happened to have hit a jackpot (for now anyway).
He sometimes gets upset and thinks he's a loser but he's the one who is MUCH more financially disciplined and has taught me to really save. when we are married we'll have a joint checking and savings and then our individual accounts to which let's say $1000 per month will be deposited for entertainment/living expenses/ outings ect.
OMG I am in the same boat too! I swear if I was even half as disciplined as my DH, I would be super loaded!!!!

I make just a lil more. We are going to keep 1 joint checking and savings and then each have our own savings on the side. Its makes sense when we spoke about it. I will just put like 80 bucks a month in my seperate 1. Just in case I want crap of my own, lil b.s.

I make more. . .just because I've been teaching for 3 more years than he has, and he's JUST finishing up his masters. We figured out that if we have a child with a chronic illness, he's the one that will have to give up teaching simply because I make more.Right now, we have separate accounts for personal expenses and a joint account for rent/utilities/wedding expenses. Once we get married, we are going to consolidate into one account.
