Question - who makes more?

Because I am just curious!

Who makes more, you or FH/DH? Any issues because of it?

My answer: I make more -- a lot more. We also keep separate accounts. No problems, but obviously it means that when we have kids I can't really leave the job market for very long (however, he doesn't have a problem with this and we talked about this very extensively before we got married).

We make about the same...we'll have a joint bank account once we're married.

FH makes almost double what I make.

Not because he makes so much - just bc I make crap.

No problems what's mine is his and vice versa. We have sep accounts and plan to keep it that way after the wedding but will likely add each other as authorized users on each others accounts.

FH makes more than me... He also works LONG hours though and I just do 9-5. We have seperate accounts now plus a combined checking that we are using for the wedding. We will have a joint checking after we are married

I make just about double what FH makes. No real issues about it because his insurance and retirement plans are so much better than mine. We joke all the time how I can support us till we retire and then he takes over!

As far as bank accounts go, we each maintain our own separate checking and savings accounts and have a joint savings account also.

I make more . We intend to share everything post-marriage and for the most part we do now too.

I make more than him.

He used to but since he changed careers, its me that makes more money. We rarely have problems from it.

I make more, but I'll have to leave my job when we get married, so he'll make more. We currently have separate accounts, but we plan to have all joint accounts when we get married.

I make lots more...but he makes a great salary and I happened to have hit a jackpot (for now anyway).

He sometimes gets upset and thinks he's a loser but he's the one who is MUCH more financially disciplined and has taught me to really save. when we are married we'll have a joint checking and savings and then our individual accounts to which let's say $1000 per month will be deposited for entertainment/living expenses/ outings ect.

ETA: this has also made us think long and hard about children....I don't want to stall my career and he doesn't want me to either. We'll probably just have 1 child and adopt another in 3-4 years. I don't want to take off for maternity leave twice and I intend to take at least 4 months, so there you have it.

FH..... Way more now, & we operate joint. We share everything 50/50 , from day one when we made the same. He wanted me to quit my job. NO way I'll never do that. I'd go crazy with nothing to do all day. Besides I like my job.

We both make pretty good money and FH makes more than I do.

We have a joint honeymoon account and vendor account but our monies are seperate for now.

OMG! that is so funny we have the same issues... my 401k and benefits are amazing and his are like bottom the o fbarrell, so we make that joke too!

I make more than FH but he made more than me for the entire time we were dating until I finished school. I think it will even out soon because we both just finished law school and once we get settled in our careers we will be close to the same.

I make more right now because i have been in this particular school district longer. We dont care about it though. We have joint bank accounts and share everything. makes the most sense for us.

I make a good deal more than FH and he definitely doesn't mind! We both would like to make more of course (now that I'm making good money I want more!) I am the only one with the bank account - he deposits almost his entire paycheck into my account and I make sure the bills get paid. It has worked for us like this for many years (been doing this for about 9 years I'd say) and we'll continue on this way after we're married.
