questions about b-parties (one day ones) (UPDATE BELOW - please read, dont quote) thanks!!
for those that had a 1 day/night party (not a weekend getaway), did you have a lot of people that either: -just came for the morning -just came for the evening -just came for a little bit
?????????
is this normal? unless i really had a CONFLICTING COMMITMENT that i couldnt avoid, i would show up for EVERYTHING!
before i say anymore (cuz im kinda annoyed), what are your thoughts??
if you were/are the bride - do you care if people leave early? come late?
help!

i would want every1 to attend ALL the festivities... but when youre dealing with a lot of people, u have to look at each person individually, rather than as a whole.

i'm not 100% sure what we're doing but i already know 2 people will prob only come to the NYC part of things
also, one person said she'll only come for dinner but it's cause she had to be somewhere else (a family thing).
i'm a bit frustrated about it, i guess ... but i do understand that people might not have time or money to do everything. honestly, if they make it to any part, i'm happy with that - at least they made the effort to be there.

It wouldn't bother me too much. I understand that the larger the group the harder it is to find a day that works for everyone, but really you couldn't just take out ONE day to spend with me? I still wouldn't let it get to me, unless it was like the MOH or something.

I had a small group for my bach party, mainly because I didn't want my sister and best friend to deal with people's bullshiz.
Anytime you try to organize something with a larger group, conflicts will arise, not to mention that some people might not have enough cash flow for ALL of the festivities.
As a bride, if something like that happened, I'd just be happy that everyone made it for some part of the celebration.

Re: questions about b-parties (one day ones)
we did a spa day thing for the daytime which was bridal party only.
then we went back to the hotel to eat dinner and drink and get ready--- some of my friends/cousins met us there.
then we had the hunkomania show which is when almost everyone else met up with us....
the everyone from hunkomania went to another bar where we had table service - a few girls who couldnt come out earlier met us here.
haha so to sum it up...yes i had mostly people there for the marjority of the night but a few girls that had to meet us later.

oh geez janis....if its been planned for months and the 'activities' that are planned shouldnt cost $$$$ then there shouldnt be this many issues...but people are annoying and dont realize that this should be a special, fun, exciting time to celebrate with the bride can you point out to the girls that want to leave early because of $$ that they have free admission to the clubs and will only be responsible for the drinks they buy??

I'd definitely point out that the clubs are FREE and therefore they don't need to shell out any money unless they choose to.
And transportation? SERIOUSLY? TO QUEENS? I bet they are big girls and have taking the big girl subway choo choo train before late at night. Gimme a fkn break.

yesterday i sent a seriously long email that outlined all the options and pricing. so it was all there. i cant baby these people.
and now the girls that are coming late and may need to 'leave early' because of rides. i dont get it. we are in manhattan. you live in qns. get over it!

mine was a weekender.. but i have gone to ones were we go out to dinner and then a club and there were girls that just went to dinner or met up at the club afterward
i for one think you should be there for all festivities unless you really have good reasoning not to be able to make it

I went to one bparty that was early dinner and then strip club and then dancing. as I was in the midst of crazy finals season and had to submit a huge take home exam the next day I came out only for the dinner part (taking with me my laptop LOL) the bride was sooooo excited about me making for this part and thought that I was crazy, she really couldnt believe I would go to so much trouble just for her.
but when thinking about all the BS reason these ppl ur dealing with list then its completely NOT understandable. as a bride I would be VERY VERY hurt, esp about the one with the transportation to qns
sorry Janis - ur being an amazing friend and that is all u can basically do for her
