Questions about custom-made wedding rings
when they make a mold of your engagement ring so they can match the wedding band to it.......--do they do it right in front of you?
I wouldn't want to leave my e-ring with anyone, or even let it out of my sight!
---Also, besides Elsa, do you have a place you recommend to custom-make the ring?
--how long does it usuallly take?
thanks!

Re: Questions about custom-made wedding rings
i'm on the prowl for a jeweler for this as well. so far, of the 3 that i spoke to, they said i would need to leave my ring. however, my guess is that if you made your concern known and you were willing to give up time to stay there while they did the mold, they would not say no and risk the sale. at least, that's what i keep telling myself b/c i refuse to leave my ring as well!

Re: Questions about custom-made wedding rings
Well, I got my w-band from the same designer as my e-ring & they didn't ask for it and it matches perfectly. It wasn't a 'stock' design so I'm not sure how they did it!

Re: Questions about custom-made wedding rings
I think I remember reading on Elsa's website that they will make the mold while you wait so that you don't have to leave your e-ring.

Re: Questions about custom-made wedding rings
My FH and I are having our bands custom made at Elsas.I had to leave my e-ring with them for about an hour for them to make the mold and they invited me to come back there with them while they did the mold. I chose not to go!!! I was a little nervous. Maybe I am too trusting of people????

Re: Questions about custom-made wedding rings
If it's done at the same jeweler who made your e-ring, they should have the measurements so you won't need to leave your e-ring.

LOL.
Maybe I'm too paranoid!
Anyway, I'm glad to hear this.

my e-ring wasn't custom-made, but it's an antique setting and I haven' t been able to find anything to match it.

Mine is an antique setting, do you have any pictures of your ring? I've been looking for something to match my ring and I found one that goes really well with it. If you don't have a pic, can you describe it?
